I would like to see an expansion or sequel to Tron 2.0, but how would you get a decent story? You can only get sucked into a computer against your will so many times.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

True....
But, what if this time somebody from the computer world somehow gets sucked into the real world?

Layer.dll Wrote:O.K. For those who had a little trouble realizing what Xistence stated above...
1. The TRON 2.0 source code will not be given out!!!
2. Any further materials relating to TRON 2.0 production (i.e. prefabs, level source, etc.) will also not be given out!!!
Source for these statements: BVG
The TCDG (Tron Community Developers Group) has been working behind the scenes with BVI to try and secure various things to continue TRON 2.0 community growth. At one point we were to receive about 1.2+ gigs of materials - map sources, model sources, prefabs, etc. 2 months went by - the approval process made it to the top dog...where it was given the beatdown. BVI themselves have been the ones to pretty much grind things to a halt in this effort to revive a dying community. They would rather buy piss-poor franchises like Turok: Dinosaur Hunter than invest in quality (albeit underperforming) franchises like TRON 2.0.
The main reason TRON 2.0 isn't as alive as we'd like isn't the community ...it's BVI's own lackluster support. As hard as it is to believe that Disney would undermine its own property....It's exactly what has happened, AND IS HAPPENING. I predict within the next 2 years (given their history in bad judgement) that BVI will stop being anything as a serious developer and will shift COMPLETELY to a market whos audience won't give a rats @$$ about quality . . . 5 year olds. |
*Crosses arms* There's two ways out of this.
Way #1: We'll try emailing them again only this time, we'll say that we want the code for educational purposes. Because technically, that's true condisdering that we are trying to learn something here right? And learning = eductaion, right? It's the one thing that they can't really nail us on and furthermore, copyright materials like the source code is perfevctly legal for educational purposes and eductaional puposes are unaffected by certain laws. If they still say no, they would be denying us our right to an EDUCATION! And under Canadian law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, they AREN'T allowed to do that. I think there's something similar in American Law too. I think the last thing they want is a few potential people (I mean us) to sue (It's more of an implied thing if you see what I mean). So then they would have to fork it over.
Way #2: Hacking. This is something that's definately not new to me (Okay.... bit's out of the bin. I have hacked programs before on a regular basis. My dad jokes about this and says it's like I stole a car!) But it's doable. We just have to be VERY CAREFUL!

Well we can rule out the hacking part very quickly here. And not to blame you or anyone else on that part either. I've done some hacking as well but that was after playing the game to see how it ticked and all that over hre. For personal pleasure and nothing more than that.
If we went the way of the first like you have suggested Kamui. How the heck are we going to get it that way. I mean we all do not belong to the same educational institute that we can do this for educational purposes. Since we are all too spread out here to even to do that. Your in Ontario, I'm over in Quebec, Some of the others like Sketch, Davetron, Kia, etc are spread across the states and others half way around that big lake of between the continents there. It would make it even harder to do so. There has to be anothr way or a third alternative to this. (Doing my imitation of William Shatner playing Captain Kirk from star trek. )

EvilDono. That is fine for those who are intersted in that. Myself personally I'm not interestd in that area personally. I know that you and others are intersted in that kind of stuff. Which is great if your into that. Call me an old Folgey in my ways and seeing computers change over the years in leaps and bounds over the year. And being a techie since the early 90's. and a recent programmer. I'll pass on that part.
My strength and what I can provide in that area are more into streamlineing the excess fat that make program like that down to a more managable size that it duable for everyone. And also doing DBMS and being able to have it work good even on the slowest computers that is required to run.

Our group, The TCDG, tried anything and everything in the hopes they would release the source.
Unfortuantely, Its just not going to happen.
However,
Dont let this discourage any of you from creating new materal.
It is posslble to create lots of new stuff based on the limited amount of material they did release.
For example, check out our team web site:

Wow. I vote for myself for the most morphed topic from its original posting
I would love for someone to obtain the original Tron 2.0 game engine and create an ALL NEW game from it. Something akin to the great sequels.... Ratchett and Clank... Spyro.. Soul Reaver.. I think Tron 2.0.1 could rule... I could do the voices.. I can mimic anyone. Well.. men anyone.

@CompuCore
Believe me, we also deep into this stuff (me personally is doing programming in 4 languages and since 10 years now). Hacking this game for information is also not the newest (i had my first 'look' already into the first demo, to find out how some stuff is working). We can understand your intention as Kamui's as well. We just want to point on the fact that it would be better to focus your energy directly in finding things out then in waiting for resonance from BVG/Monolith and getting frustrated/demotivated and great ideas you might have would die then. Organize yourself with others (or start communication with TCDG, as we're already organisated) and start to find things out step by step rather then waiting for the blessing of getting information from pps who definitly know that every piece of data they spill out could mean lost money for them. They are not dumb!
@Kamui
The educational thing is intresting, but you forget one thing: Such a stuff is their property. It would be the same i would get to you, after you (theoretically) made a great program, and i would say 'give it to me, i want to learn'. Go into yourself and think about it: would you really do this? Wouldn't you think 'and what is he doing with my stuff. What if he makes his game or program out of my stuff and earning money for it?'
And also, at least BVG can point on source already available for this game-engine (NOLF2-Source). It is not compatbile with Tron2.0, but it is surely 90% equal to the source of Tron. So if you want to learn about something you can use this, and they will tell you the same.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Then under law, I would have no means to say anything. It's educational purposes and I can't do anything to them.
As far as what Compucore said eariler about us being too spread out, then we'll have to look in to international laws. or it can be just one of us asking for the code and then handing it out? Yeah... the law thing is a bit of a stretch.... I'm really trying hard here....

Somehow, that's given me an idea. It's 90% similar as you said, right? So 90% of the work is already done for us. That leaves only 10% that we have to figure out. So we can probably use that as well as making educated guesses so we can come up with another Tron game. It'll be a lot of work.... but at least we have something....

Unfortunately not. Because to make stuff running under Tron you have to compile it, therefor you need the right and complete sourcecode, it wouldn't help just to have 90% of the source. Also this 90% a spread out that means every source-file could be 90% right but the same time 10% wrong, wrong enough that you can't compile it correctly. I do programming for years now, so i can say that it won't work, also it was my first thought (as my first try for more than a year).
