Uh oh....

Uh...

** in high speed motion **

yanks batteries out of ROM, Merlin, Armatron, and the others

runs out to store, purchases a large, thick safe

places all action figures in the safe and slams door shut

spins the combo lock round and round

nails boards crisscrossing front of safe for additional protection

surrounds safe with several layers of chains and more locks

swallows all lock keys

digs large hole in back yard

jumps in crane and lowers safe in to ground

hops in a cement truck, backs it up to the hole and fills it in with quick hardening cement

hops in yet another truck and unloads fresh soil over cement

plants quick growing grass seed and waters

looks at watch - 3... 2... 1...

POOF - NEW GRASS sprouts up

mows over the new grass in riding mower to even it off

plants some bushes near area in the shape of an arrow pointing in opposite direction

runs back over to thread and leans up against thread wall...

folds arms and whistles as if nothing happened

lol... that is really funny... I feel the same way about some of my 80's goodies.

I feel so old. I hear Van Halen and Dokken referred to at the GOLDEN OLDIES on my local news radio.

When we become 60-80, are we going to be driving our cars listing to CD's of our fav music (which CDs will be replaced with some sort of chip like 8-tracks were with tapes, dag-nab-it) while young kids call us old farts?

.... and during that time are we going to say, "When we were your age, we drove our cars to school.. We didn't have these Star Trek transporter thingys, we had our Mustanges and were damn prod of it to." ????????

Just a sad thought.

Yeah, I know. Remember in the 80's, when stuff from the 60's were the silly things our parents remembered fondly? The styles looked funny to us, the music was so lame (I mean compared to Van Halen, right?), and they walked to school up hill both ways in the snow?

The 80's was a good time. A lot of stupid crap came from that era, but a LOT MORE cool stuff came from that era. Sure, the younger people look back now at that time and laugh at the styles. So what - wait till they see how funny they look in 20 years when they look back on themselves (I'm ALREADY laughing at a lot of what's "cool" and "hip" today).

And I might add, computing and gaming aside, have there really been any cool toys in the last decade and a half that rival the cool stuff we played with in the 80's?

I LOVE the technology of today, and can't wait to see how far it goes during my time on this planet. But I don't think there'll even be the coolness of the 80's again... well, not until 80's styles and trends jump (JUMP - might as well jump!) back in to style again. But if/when it does, it will probably be VERY short lived in today's micro-attention-span-society.

But hey – at least we thoroughly enjoyed the 80’s, right? I’ll age, but I’ll NEVER get old!

Cute.

Hey - you know, in another 20 years or so it will be:

"Huh? MP-what? You used to have to store your music on a physical medium like a flashcard? Ha ha ha! I remember hearing OLD people talk about flash cards! How lame! And what's a mouse anyway? You mean you actually had to touch something and move it around to interface with a computer? - YOU OLD PEOPLE!"

Think about it - it's just around the corner
