I heard they were only making the first three books into films!!!!!!!

Actually, that's not true anymore. Countingdown.com has listed all seven books.

Rincewind thought about this and then, with an air of finality, started to take off his last sock.
"No half-bricks," he said to no-one in particular. "Have to use sand?"
"You're going to attack them with a sockful of sand?"
"No, I'm going to run away from them. The sockful of sand is for when they follow.

I thought Harry 5 was the best of the bunch. Wrapped up a lot of open issues and sets the stage for what I think will be amazing books 6 and 7. I read it in three days. I may read it again, it was that good.

Well, I finished it last week. I was so scared JK was going to kill off Lupin...whew! Dodged that bullet! Or would that be...dodged that spell!

Still...

A great book!

As for the movies, I'm hoping they recast for the third one. It was almost impossible to believe the kids in the 2nd movie were only 12 years old! Sheesh! Next movie the characters are only 13 and the actors (the boys anyway) are going on 15 and 16, I think. It just doesn't work.

Can we post spoilers now? Now that I've read it?

I really liked the book and thought it was entertaining the whole way through.

I think Rowling has really expanded the HP universe in the 5th book, and added a lot more depth to the characters.

I don't remember the other ones well enough to have a favorite.
