I've made it some times ago in blender 2.79b. I've found blender internal render engine particularly suitable for recreating the original shading of the film, since it allows you to use gradients to recreate rather quickly, the shadows and lights, (as for my lightcycles renderings). The sequence has some defects (such as the increasing speed of the camera at the time of assembly of the sail). The hardest part was recovering material and correctly interpreting some geometries, such as the topology of the sail and the keel, but it was fun
