Download the TRON 2.0 Multiplayer Fix

In early December 2012, Gamespy dropped support for TRON 2.0 Multiplayer. So LDSO and schmatzler of tron-servers.net have done something about it!

Get the TRON 2.0 Multiplayer Fix from the download link above, to allow you to easily Join and Host servers again. This fix will be incorporated into Killer App Mod v1.2 when it's available, but for now this is being released on its own.

Please note that unless your computer processor is at least dual-core, allowing the installer to change Qtracker configuration for you automatically will take a very long time.

So, on really old computers you may want to say "No" when it asks about proceeding with this step and configure Qtracker yourself later on. On fast computers, if you say "Yes" it will only take 2-3 minutes.

Either way, the installer has not crashed. You just have to BE PATIENT.

Well . . . what do you mean by inactive, exactly?

If you're saying that if you randomly pick any day of the week, and find not many players online (or even none), then you would probably be right more often than not.

But if you're saying the Multiplayer Fix itself is inactive (i.e. not working), then that's not correct. People have been using it as a workaround to continue playing Tron 2.0 multiplayer, and just this past weekend I had some people on the servers that I host.

Run the original Tron 2.0 game launcher (the regular Tron 2.0 icon).

The link I provided explains it all in detail. But what I'm saying is: if at some point you ran the Mod Manager, use the regular Tron 2.0 game launcher instead to run the game. Then quit the game. After that, the error should go away.


Just for everyone's reference:

After installing the Multiplayer Fix, you have to visit http://www.tron-servers.net/ or use Qtracker to find servers. All of this is included in the fix. The YouTube video in the first post explains it all.

This is in case anyone is still trying to join servers from inside the game. You can't use the in-game browser to find servers any more. It doesn't work.

This Multiplayer Fix is now obsolete, due to the release of Killer App Mod v1.1a.  The mod restores Multiplayer in-game in TRON 2.0 itself, rather than require a separate external program like this.
