"Did i ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same f**king thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change... That. Is. Crazy." (Vass Montenegro in FarCry3)
I definitely know what he means and per his definition, well i must be insane... because Dedit was so 'kind' (again) to 'ate' my map file (again) so i have to rebuild most of the stuff (again). So the next update will take some more time as the only thing that i was able to rescue was the ship hull and thats it. Core, training room, bridge - all are gone and have to be rebuild (... again).
Just as a hint for all other Dedit-modders: if you use Dedit (32Bit) on a 64Bit
system and your map file might getting big with lots of polys (lets say > 70000) you could risc that you map file gets truncated or filled with 0-byte data randomly when saving. Check you map -often- enough so that it is still ok (close Dedit, reopen it, if you see the map completely - everything is ok) and make backups at every important step you have done. Also try to exclude some geom into prefabs, that also will keep your map file smaller.
So... again i will rebuild it and (just to not get bored) i will do it differently. The good aspect about this: everything will look nice this time, not so crappy as before -and- i can try a different work process that (hopefully) will Dedit tame a bit. Wish me luck!
