Tron 70mm at Cinerama

on Tuesday, April, 17, 2012 7:54 PM
To Pacific Northwesterners, it looks like the original will be shown at Seattle's Cinerama on April 28th at 12:30pm, as part of their First Annual Sci-Fi Film Festival. There are some other films playing during the two week time period that would be cool to see on the big screen, too...

Maybe we should all keep a periodic look out on the following site? It shows the 70mm Tron showing at the Seattle Cinerama. Maybe it will be updated with its 'next' location whenever/wherever that may be? The 70mm version seems to be the one that goes around...

Cool83, I saw an old post on a different forum saying the Paramount Theatre in Austin was showing the 70mm Tron back in August of 2007. I know Austin isn't close to you, but depending on how desperate you are, it might be worth the trip if it ever returns? If so, maybe keep an eye on them. If I were you, I'd also try Google-searching for "Tron 70mm Houston, TX" (and similar) on occasion to see if it ever rolls around into your neighborhood. Perhaps you have some indie theatres in Houston that sometimes play old movies, where you could keep an eye on their "Coming Soon" and Playing Now attractions?abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

From The Stranger:

Review here: http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/back-to-the-future/Content?oid=13385910
Tron (dir. Steven Lisberger, 1982, Sat April 28): People who like Tron really, really like Tron. What they do not know is that Tron is the most boring movie ever, including Tron Legacy.
Then again, this IS the Stranger.

For any fellow Programs: Noon-thirty on Sat the 28th. Anyone planning on going? where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

It's an entire universe in there, one we created, but it's beyond us now. Really. It's outgrown us. You know, every time you shut off your computer...do you know what you're doing? Have you ever reformatted a hard drive? Deleted old software? Destroyed an entire universe?"

Y'know, all the people who say the Tron movies are terrible have obviously not been to the movies much.

I mean, really, I only have two words in rebuttal for them: Total Recall. (There are many, many more on this list-- separated into sections like "boring" and "difficult to understand" and "slow-paced" and "too fast-paced" and "no plot" and "plot's been done too many times/predictable plot" and then of course "director and/or writers were on crack/director's 'vision' should've been kept inside his or her own head," etc.-- but that is one of the biggest movies that makes me laugh my ass off and say "really???")

Most recent disappointing movies I've seen this year, at least that stick in my mind (total off-topic ramble):

Melancholia (slow-paced and strange {also astronomically-unsound}. Only reason I was somewhat unfazed was because I'd watched Electroma {the Daft Punk} the night before so this one seemed tame in comparison).

Immortals (well-built guys wearing next-to-nothing I was fine with, but the plot was like every other action movie plot only it wasn't done very well. Interesting take on the Theseus story I suppose, though I had to explain the original to my partner *headdesk*)

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (I want to watch the original show/read the book, which might make more sense. They tried to deliberately make it hard to follow, and they succeeded too well)

I didn't see much in the past year that was all that impressive, really. Although I laughed my ass off at Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Chaos.... good news.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was a joke. Snoozefest. Good actors and looked authentically like the '70s... but not much going on in the film to hold my interest.

PS: Fortunately. The Stranger later writes in that article that Dune is worse than Tron:

Dune (dir. David Lynch, 1984, Mon April 30): When I said Tron was the boringest movie? I lied! That honor goes to David Lynch's interminable clusterfuck Dune. This thing's only redeeming quality is a majestic shot in which Patrick Stewart charges into battle while carrying a pug.

Let me guess. This Henriksen balloon knot was born around 1989 , sports fake black plastic rimmed glasses, neck beard and hangs out all day with his hipster clique at Starbucks while they think up excessively verbose tripe for his articles. Probably the only reason the guy even knows about A Trip to the Moon and Metropolis is because his fellow "art house" phonies told him so, otherwise he would trash those movies too.

The Stranger is an indie paper that has more coverage of city politics than anyone else. It's also the "home base" for Dan Savage, and just won a Pulitzer for coverage on a really nasty crime case in South Seattle. On the downside, the music and film reviews are of the "too hip for everyone" school.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Well, Programs, on my way to the theater now (and streaming Billy Idol's Cyberpunk album). I hope to see some fellow fans!

Edit: There was a pretty good crowd in the theater. Ended up sitting next to a guy and his small boy (corrupt 'em in Alpha Build, Pop). If you were there, I'm a short redhead and was wearing a long-sleeved tye dye shirt and a black X box vest, carting a pack and reading Ghost in the Machine prior to lights off. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

That was a great showing! The colors were leaning a bit to the pink/purple side throughout, but it made the movie seem warmer, in general, and maybe even made the glowing circuitry 'pop' more. I think that's how it was last time i saw it there, too, so it must be the print and they're not color-correcting, or it's just how it is for some reason. Didn't detract. The sound was great, too.

I'm impressed... The theater was quite crowded. And there was great applause and cheering at the end.
