I personally have never don't those mods but I think you could try to bypass the buttons and circuits so the power goes to the LEDs. But you would still have to use the on-off switch. You would also have to look into that sort of thing more since LEDs need resistors so if the buttons are bypassed it might give the LEDs too much power and burn them out. But then the resitors might have nothing to do with the buttons. Like I said I have never opened one up. But go for it!
