Question Regarding Original Tron Poster

on Tuesday, December, 13, 2011 8:34 PM
Hey programs,

I was at a used book store about a week ago and when I was looking around, lo and behold there was an original TRON poster on the wall.

I asked the guy working there how much he wanted and he replied "$20". I thought he would end up giving me the one on the wall that was a little beat up, instead I got a brand new one wrapped in plastic.

I'm guessing it might of been a 20th anniv. reissue for the DVD, but I'm not sure so I wanted to know if you guys could tell me anything about it.

One the left side bottom right corner, It reads:
Trends International
Item #6148
TRON 1982 - ONE SHEET
Published and distributed by Trends International LLC, Indianapolis USA. Printed in Canada.

It looks like this:
Any info is appreciated.

Hey mastercyclinder,

I found this on the web:

http://www.trendsinternational.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TI&Product_Code=RP6148&Category_Code=

It's the same poster at the Trends International website. From the looks of it, they seem to be a distributor for retail shops and businesses. I don't know if they would sell directly to a single customer or not. I guess a quick email or phone call to them would answer that.

It seems your poster is a print at the one-sheet size. Most authentic movie posters are double-sided (mirror image on the back), so that the colors are better when displayed in a light box. If the colors on your poster are rich and deep, that would probably be a nice addition to a home theater wall.

Thanks for finding that!

I don't think it's double sided, but It'll look nice when it's in a big frame with my T:L Teaser poster.

Wow, didn't know that about the double sided. I have a Tron Legacy poster from the Disney Movie Rewards that's double sided with a mirror image. That's good to know. I just framed mine a few days ago, and it looks awesome.

Love the vintage one you got! cool find.
