Vaporware Wrote:Knowing how fast time moves in the Grid relative to the real world, it could be very interesting to know how long things continued in the Grid after Sam left and before he shut down the servers.... |
This isn't hard to calculate:
1 millicycle is about 8 hours
1 RW year = 49.999999994064 Grid cycles (actual)
Let's assume Sam "froze" the system moments after getting out, putting it into artificial stasis. Let's assume it takes one minute to do this.
1 RW minute = 0.00009512937594 Grid cycles = 50.03 Grid minutes (perceived)
Fan theories suggest 1-2 days maximum between Sam and Q's escape to the time he downloads and shuts down the Grid. Assuming he doesn't freeze the system on escape, the Grid would have continued to function for:
2 RW days = 0.2739726027072 Grid cycles = 100.07 days (perceived)

We can safely assume all real world computing analogies to function in the Tron world. Therefore if you "copy" data, it doesn't get destroyed in its original location, unless Sam decided to do so.
