The greatest and most ironic thing about TL.

on Wednesday, September, 28, 2011 7:14 PM
Okay so maybe this is not truly ironic, but everything in the Tron universe is ultimately digital, made up of ones and zeroes, right? Well, one startling realization of mine is that while the above is true, so is the fact that the movie, filmed entirely with digital cameras, is also made up of ones and zeroes ultimately. Anyhow....

Um...

I guess? It's mildly profound. Also I'm pretty sure the world of Tron exists in an imaginary subspace, and not made entirely of data...

There are a variety of theories about what the 'universe inside the machine' actually is. It'd be nice to hear Lisberger, Kosinski et al, make a definitive statement about that.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

That's what I wonder, too. I mean, are you physically THERE? Or is it just some sort of virtual construct-- IOW, "all in your head"? (So pretty much the Matrix, only your body is digitized and held while your consciousness is transferred in, rather than your brain being hardwired into the system. So I guess the difference would be in Tron you're like software only, and in The Matrix you're like a hardware device as well?)

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Chaos.... good news.

Oh boy . . .

See, I was convinced that every computer that has a hard drive of some kind had a precreated empty space that looks like a floor with the Grid pattern on it. Programs and other software makes up the buildings and I/O towers and power grids are inherently in the machine.

So when you're digitized you're being "translated" into something the computer world can hold and understand, a "program". You're "body" doesn't work like a program though, which gives you all those fancy user powers like energy transference etc.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

That's what I gathered from listening to interviews with Lisberger, I'm not conveying fan theories. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact points where he said it.

According to the short featurette extras on the DVD, the directors and writers talked extensively with computer scientists, philosophers and quantum physicists about this, and how it would work. They agreed that with enough computing power, it could happen. The idea of being "sucked into" the computer is probably the same as it was in Tron: The computer zaps and physically deconstructs one's body, including the neurons and their brain which drive their conscious experience. That info, gleaned from tyhe deconstruction, is stored and used in the computer.

BUt where does the physical body go when you're sucked into the computer world? We'd have to stretch our imaginations a bit and admit that this is sci-fi, but i see no other explaination aside from the computer being able to reconstruct molecules from this air and then reconstruct them into your body when you're zapped back out. OR...

We didn't see Sam sucked into the computer, not really, so this could have happened differently from how it was done in Tron. He may have been zapped by the laser, but his neural processes and composition of his brain-or enough of it to transfer his consciousness into the computer, were the only thing really scanned and then sucked into the machine, while his body remained in a suspended state seated at his father's work station. If that were true though, his father's body, long withered from starvation, would been found in his lab. We didn't really see Sam's body being taken apart as happened to his dad in T. Barring that, the computer would have to have enough physical storage space to store the deconstructed physical bodies and books in itself until they could be rematerialized back into our world. But the problem with that is that CLU had figured out a way to bring a whole army and it's weapons into the real world, yet none of them had ever existed outside the machine in the first place, but he had clearly "figured out a way to do it" and almost did.

It's an alternate universe, an alternate realm or world. It is the digital frontier. For sam, it was a complete body tranport. Remember, he bled in the arena. Rinzler/Tron paused. He knew change was coming. I believe we will see more interaction, from our world to the Grid, in Tron 3. Tron Uprising will complete the picture, and bring more users online. The more people understand the Grid, the more they will want to see more. It's coming, hold on to your seats. order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Unfortunately you can only choose to interpret the bleeding as a sign it was a total transport. It's still inconclusive either way.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

The SHIVA laser was developed to experiment with quantum teleportation, where matter is disassembled and stored in the real world while the particle information is stored on the computer. The matter can then be reassembled according to the information fed to the laser.

"Quorra was reconstructed from the Carbon and Water stored in the Shiva laser from Flynn's teleportation. If you look closely, you'll see the various canisters arranged around its base." - Kosinski, movieweb.com interview

http://www.movieweb.com/news/joseph-kosinski-talks-tron-legacy-blu-ray-and-dvd

"We brought these ideas to the filmmakers. It is now conceivable that you could one day take a particle in the real world and teleport it into a quantum computer. The process for teleportation would likely involve sending the particle information into the computer, while the hydrogen and oxygen stays in the real world." - John Dick, Tron: Legacy physics advisor

Ha! Didn't I start a rather long-winded thread "Would Clu's Plan Have Worked?" exactly about how the Shiva laser could take 1 life form in and take another out as an equal exchange - precisely because of the volume of raw carbon and similar elements stored by the Shiva?

Moses, Kasier. Thank for vindicating the observation of the physics that the director planned into the film!

I don't know what was discussed in that thread, but I've been maintaining that you'd have to assume utter stupidity and/or laziness on the writers part if CLU's plan really was to bring his army to the real world in physical form.

I think that was the plan, but it represented a departure from the physics that the director went to some length to include in the film.

That wouldn't be so much a departure as scientific hypocrisy, where rules are only selectively applied. I think considering the fact that CLU's mode of access to the real world is never discussed in the movie, it would be more logical to assume the filmmakers intended for the less implausible version to happen (eg, transportation to the world outside the closed Grid system, like the internet), which is a first order assumption, rather than make up rationalisations that break movie rules in order to justify a theory, which by itself is pretty lame.

I've seen a quote somewhere of Steven Lisberger saying something to this extent, I'm paraphrasing here but he said something like "The thing that I find ironic about this is that in the original Tron, we have Jeff being zapped into the computer, digitally. And what we did to create Clu was essentially the same thing." order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion
