Just popping in to let you all know that the surgery went fine. I'm back home now, somewhat sore, and very loopy. So far, the rest of us in 2011 are on the Solar Sailer, except for Clu1.0, who is back in his system. Thanks ID and trekking96! I really like writing the Flynn/Alan dynamic duo.
I've always thought the way they relate to each other is really cool, they're like opposites in many ways yet with a common bond and they just click like brothers. Even when they clash they still click. With Alan's quick and sarcastic sense of humor countering Flynn's general off-the-wall-ness and occasional bravado it just totally works.


Right now in the RP we're seeing a glimpse into where 82 Flynn's head is at in general ... he's already trying to handle Encom, owning the arcade, and preparing for impending fatherhood all at the same time. And then there's the Grid - something that's basically a technological revolution but at the same time is fraught with unknowns as well as potential dangers if competitors discovered it or it fell into the wrong hands - so Flynn tries to handle all that without burdening Alan or worrying him ... and yet, ... he ends up flaking because of it, which ironically burdens and worries Alan.

And this didn't seem to be discussed in the Legacy script, but, I think that trait of Flynn's could be the reason Alan Bradley never knew about the Grid or knew where to look for Flynn, even as close as the two of them were. Because ironically, although Alan's nickname later becomes Isolated Thinker, in many ways that's Flynn instead - when things get tough he pulls inward, isolates, tries to solve problems on his own, which, sometimes ends disastrously, a la Legacy.

Flynn's mom... Passed away today.
She is in a good place.. And is at peace now.. Her and her family are grieving.. And I'm sure would appreciate thoughts and prayers in this tough time.

As such.. she won't be around for a few days. I told her I would let everyone know.
