Just Realised! (Spoilers!)

on Friday, September, 23, 2011 2:23 PM
Heyyy. First, I'M BACK! (and better) and I went to see Legacy at the cinema last night, as it was randomly showing in 3D IMAX again... I dragged a friend along, and was surprised to hear her call it EPIC!

Also, on this fifth viewing (and apologies if it has been mentioned before, I've been away for a while) but at the end, I had previously assumed the whole grid had been destroyed during reintegration, but of course, only the portal area is! *facepalm* The sea of simulation remains, and therefore Tron City will be intact!

So, what do you think happened when Sam shut the servers off?

I though they were still "alive" in Sam's data chip.

Well... Programs are not erased when you turn a computer off.. So we can guess that everything is still there.. Though you can get into whether anything is physically happening?? Eh.. But then that takes me back to the thought of how the servers kept running for 20 years without crashing.. Or power outages.. Or.... You get the point... Its sci-fi/fantasy man.

It looked like more than several 1000 programs were vanquished. But I do agree and have said so, that I think the city survived. What else would Sam how saved on that chip?

I dunno, I assumed the info from his dad's disc, and whatever fragmented info he could pull up and fix later.

I thought it was all destroyed. It seemed to me they showed that it was nothing but rock and water after that... just back to the basics of nature, which is how it probably started out.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I guess it depends on the direction of the camera. I noticed the flag-like data was destroyed, "water" and hard data survived. Now what if we scan around and the city is that way, maybe it survived. I can hope.

If you pay attention to the last shot of the grid, you can see the reintegration explosion did not pass over the shore of the Sea of Simulation. It's logical to assume everything outside of this radius remains intact.

I thought it did and it was shown coming back from a farther radius.

How big is the grid anyway?

I hope this link works. The image is way too large to post here, so I just put a link to it:

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6950/gridworldmap.jpg

This was part of the Disney Second Screen app. It shows the layout of the Grid. It's hard to read, but some of it you can make out.

On the left in the mountainous region is the Safehouse.

The hexagon in the middle is Tron City.

The orange line going left to right right down the middle is the Solar Sailer transport energy beam.

And the Portal is on the far right side of the image out across the Sea of Simulation.

Personally, I don't think the entire Grid was destroyed during the "reintegration". I think it was just the Portal and some of the surrounding environment. When I watch that scene, it looks like there is an explosion, but then everything is pulled back together in an implosion to a single point of light. Of course, then it morphs into the power light on Kevin's computer in the basement. And that's all we see.

To me, that implosion and the remaining single point of light is a subtle suggestion that Kevin Flynn did not die/derezz/disappear during the "reintegration" event. I think that the Grid and everything associated with it (including the digital Kevin Flynn) is saved on the chip around Sam's neck. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's my take on it. Hopefully, we'll find out in TR3N.

I think the issue is moot. Consider how long Kevin, Quorra, and Sam rode that Solar Sailer? Tron City is quite far away from the Portal. We saw canyons and mountains before they even got to Clu's Rectifier. Then that baby flew for a while before it got anywhere near the Portal itself.

The footage seems to indicate that everything between the portal and the sea coast was derezzed... maybe a bit of the mountains, but the effect contracted back on itself very quickly.

I don't think footage supports a destructive wave that would reach Tron City.

I assumed the grid was smallish - based on dot-matrix print map KF's lab wall... However, watching the cutscenes from Evolution, there's good reason to think the Grid is actually pretty big with at least three cities... Plus if you look at the shipyards and scale of development in the "Uprising" trailer it looks even bigger.

Cool picture! The grid is bigger then I thought. So maybe the blast would have not that far?

That's actually smaller than I thought - but consistent with the map in Kevin's basement lab.

it is also *old*. Labeled "TR2N" light jets and Clu's command ship are wrong. Dated July 23, 2008? Maybe 2009?

consider this...

Okay so we don't exactly know how it all sussed out in the end, but I think we may be able to assume Sam loaded on to that chip some, if not all, of the info that made up his father's personality and all his knowledge of the grid as well. The portal basically had to be destroyed at the end of the movie, along with the rectifier, otherwise some schmo out there may not have understood that CLU or one of his minions and his army could have made it out. This way, we're assured they didn't and probably never will. Plus we just have to accept that the ending could have been a little more conclusive and was just a tad bit of a letdown after Sam returned to Our World. order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

How far the Solar Sailer travelled

on Sunday, October, 23, 2011 8:03 PM
Some Disney web site, press release or fan mag said the portal is 60 miles from Tron city.

It begs the question as to why, however, there would be a solar sailer traveling to that desolate and unpopulated portal area at all unless someone was trying to get out. If I were Flynn, I would have been quite concerned as to why a cargo vehicle like the SS was even so much as headed in that direction. Just where did he think it was going to dock, anyhow? where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online
