Hey everyone,
So I got into collecting, well, pretty much everything. After I did the die-casts, I got a couple of the Target Exclusive 4" figures. Then, I randomly ran into the back of a Series 2 one of those that had the arcade machine on it, and then I started hunting for those. Also happened to find a Deluxe Sam Identity Disc, which I thought was really cool. Decided to look for the Target Exclusives and the other Identity Discs. In my hunt for those, I found the 4" toys on clearance, and the 7" toys on clearance, So... yeah. I basically ended up with it all.
Here's my question though -- the list that is here and at all other sites that I have found does not have the packaging differences that apparently exist, and that's what I'm curious about. I've always been interested in collecting little variations like that, and I can't find that info!
So here's what I know -- For the 4" Action Figures, for the second series there are Series 2 packaging variations for all of them except:
- Castor (was he released?)
- Jarvis (I *know* he exists)
- Sam Flynn (???)
For the Target exclusive figures, the back of Series 2 shows six figure sets. Three of them are repeats I believe of the first series, but I have only found one that says "Series 2" on it. Does anyone know if all six of these actually were released?
Those are the two main ones that I have issues with. I'm running out of places to look for them!

Castor was not released, but a couple have been found (literally three so far have gone 'public.')
Jarvis and Quorra are the other two 'exclusive' Series 2 releases. There are also Series 2 versions of Sam, Clu, Black Guard and Clu Sentry I believe.
The only different Series 2 variant has to do with Clu. There are two versions of each series as far as I know, one with katana and another with baton. The Series 1 Clu is more yellow while the Series 2 Clu is more orange. Not sure which 'version' is harder to find but I grabbed the katana version for my collection.
The other Series 2 figures are all recards as far as we know.

I do have the two Clus, and you're right -- Series 1 has a Katana, Series 2 has a Baton. There seems to be less yellow to the series 2 Clu, but I'm not positive that was on purpose -- just looks like the paint job wasn't that good.
Series 1 Rinzler and Series 2 Rinzler have a slightly different list of included accessories on the back -- Series 2 states that it includes "2 X Batons" which seem to be included with the first series character too, just not noted.
Series 1 Black Guard and Series 2 Black Guard appear identical other than the difference in card.
I have Series 1 for Clu's Sentry, Kevin Flynn and Sam Flynn -- does anyone have the Series 2 carded versions of these? I've always found packaging differences fascinating, so I'm interested in if these all exist or not. Both Clu's Sentry and Kevin Flynn are *not* shown on the back of the Series 2 cards, so I'd be really interested if they do exist.
Also, to me at least, the Series 2 figures are a LOT harder to find than the Series 1 figures -- and this goes for every series. Even the Target exclusive Series 3 mini-figures seem to be considerably easier to find than any of the Series 2 ones. I got lucky and had two stores in my hunt (which probably covered 10 stores) that had any Series 2 figures, Target Exclusive or not. I found a number of series 1 and series 3, including snagging some extra Clu and Castor and Sam and Siren sets as trade bait

Quoting myself here, but I have a bit of an update -- on a sort of a whim, someone mentioned to me that we have a K-Mart in town that they feel like is in a time warp, because it always has stuff in it from forever ago. I decided to make a trek out there, and it looked like they had just recently opened a Series 2 box of carded figures. Amongst them, I did not find Clu's Sentry or Kevin Flynn, although I found at least two of every other character, so at this point I'm going to believe that those two do not exist in Series 2 packaging unless proven otherwise.

To this, there was all of one store in the city that got the series 2 figures, and as far as I can tell series 2 was truly only the three figures -- the two 'clones' from the first series were not repackaged in series 2. You had the Black Guard / Jarvis and the arcade machine / Sam ones as new, and the Clu / Sam (I think it was) one that was also repeated in the third. The one location that had the series 2 had about a half dozen of each of them, and a ton of the Series 1 and 3 characters too, so because of that I believe that the packaging variant for Series 2 does not exist.
Finally, something that I realized that I did not know, but now I do -- The die-cast vehicles do come in both Series 1 and Series 2 variants. I didn't realize this, and I'm missing a couple Series 1 ones now, so it gives me another reason to run around town looking at stuff order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I think there were four Clu variants, released in this order:
Series 1 yellow Clu with Katana
Series 1 orange Clu with Katana
Series 2 orange Clu with Katana
Series 2 orange Clu with Baton
There was also a minor running change to Rinzler. The initial release of Series 1 had Batons with sort of "L-shaped" notched holes that attached to the similar shaped pegs on his legs - these were changed to square holes, but the pegs on his legs remained the same (as a result, I feel that the batons attach a little better to the earlier version).
