It was revealed that the newest member of AKB48 (a Japanese all girl music group) was actually a CGI generated composite of 7 other band members.
The effect is a little better than CLU/Young Flynn, but there still is bit of uncanny valley around the mouth. The technology is definitely getting closer to being indistnguishable from reality.

Are we sure that's a 3D model and not a 2D composite? I know they placed tracking dots on their faces, but 2D compositors commonly use those as well.

The reason I ask is because if the footage of her is just those standard locked off shots, a 2D composite wouldn't be that difficult to create, and it would end up looking far more realistic than a 3d model. It would also be a lot easier.
