I imagine that's probably about intent, though. Quorra wouldn't step on and light up all the lights in the middle of Flynn's meditation; she whispers in his ear instead. Sam wouldn't have a clue about how to effect the change. Clu, presumably, would want to light the floor and would know how to do so. Actually, as a designer/illustrator myself, this looks like a symbol for the light cycle rather than CLU's name. Take a longer look at it. It shows two circles as wheels. It symbolizes what this device is for, almost like a series of Olympic sports logos.

the explosion to flynns elevator destroyed the elevator door
and the blast passed on thru to the other side (straight out the building)
flynn was probably already on the next floor down
also notice the backblast it almost reached the bar
so either the trooper's uniform protects him or the
blast effect is limited.

Really looks like the same intersection Sam ran into the Recognizer, the street, buildings and all. Could the other portal been something Flynn built for some other reason? It seems he was going back to the arcade, and someone said it sounded like Tron was urging him to hurry since this was part of the scene from Betrayal.

Actually, I think the faux-arcade is Flynn's "back door" entry and exit. Think about it. When Sam typed in 'Back Door" on the Dillinger-inspired desk, it must've activated the actual portal inside the faux-arcade, not the main one Flynn uses to transport back and forth.

Like I said, one was the 'back door' for emergencies which was Flynn's Arcade in the Grid while the main portal was where he came in and out by the usual manner.
