This is the largest Tron community on the web. Discussion on silly questions like "who was dillenger jr. talking to" may be unsolvable with the information we know for certain, but it's still fun to theorize. It strengthens the community and helps fans expand their view on the Tron universe.

I agree. This is a free sector. There are a lot of new Tron fans now, some are very young. Their questions/posts may be silly to some, but not to them. I've also seen a lot of "sorry if this has been discused already", from those being courtious. Or, perhaps they are new. I like hearing all ideas.

I'll explain the angst about this.

Every time you or someone else makes a post that is either a question that's been answered or a topic that's been discussed already in a previous thread, or when you make a thread for a question that literally has an answer in the title, (I.E., what was flynn meaning to do when he said he meant to do this?) or whatever... that automatically bumps down every thread that had a thought-provoking, ORIGINAL question or at least had something NEW to contribute to the board.

That may seem like no big deal, because it only knocks said threads down a notch, but when you have MULTIPLE threads for the same topic and MULTIPLE threads for different questions that could be organized neatly into the same thread, that bumps the good ones down ALOT. It doesn't happen so much anymore, but it happens and it is still a problem.

So you don't like people "wasting" forum space with their already answered questions. But.....here you are defending the OP whi is wasting forum space by going off-topic and complaining about common issues with forums...lol. Just saying, don't support a hypocrite or contradictory person. It does nothing for your argument.

Anyways...

Frankly, what you want cannot be achieved. Seemingly un-important topics to you, are important to someone else. What you really want is for the admins to delete topics that don't match your personal tastes as to appropriate content. That would make you the Tron-Sector equivalent of Tipper Gore and her parental advisory labels.

Tell you what, you see a topic that you know for sure has been covered. Feel free to find the original topic amidst the possibly thousands of topics and present the link for it and the new topic to an admin and then show how they are the same thing. Then the admin can decide for themselves after you've done all that work.

Does this sound kind of ridiculous?
This is what you want the moderators to do, and they would have to do it with every single thread without fail, just to make sure you don't get exposed to a question more than once.

How about this, instead of changing the roads to rubber, cause you like your cement wheels. You just avoid topics you know will have content and questions you've already been exposed to.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Most n00bs don't seem to search. When I first got here, i arrived because I had specific questions. Searching back a few pages found threads with answers to every single one. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. And I only went back two or three pages.

But as I've said, I've seen n00bs post threads about subjects that have other threads still on the same front page, sometimes only a few threads down. That is simply laziness. That means they came here, posted their thread, and didn't bother to read ANY part of the board first. That would be like walking into a business with clearly-posted signage, and asking the people at the front desk what the business was, what they do, and what their hours are. Two seconds of doing your own research would answer your questions. Nobody is asking that a person read back through months' worth of posts, but two or three pages really isn't too much to ask.

It is considered general etiquette on just about every forum I've ever been on to attempt to answer your own question before you ask, and people get pretty annoyed when you don't. Again, I don't expect someone to go way back. But make SOME effort.

And, again, every time X subject comes up, everyone has to discuss it AGAIN. And make the same points AGAIN (or sometimes different ones; I've remembered threads in which after all the debate, we decide one thing...on a later thread, it goes another way). I've found myself writing a lot of "as I said the last time we discussed this..."

Threads won't get lost if, as I said, they're stickied. My thought was one stickied post, with a link to the "official" thread about each subject. Then you don't have 20 stickies, but if a thread falls off the board, you can still access it through that link. But I was not going to waste my time making threads if they weren't going to get stickied and were just going to get lost themselves.

I still have the list of threads and subjects I made back when I first offered, and I am still willing to update it and create these threads IF I am certain the mods would be willing to make a sticky for them.

What do you want? I'm busy.

For the 50-billionth time.... I did NOT say to use the search function. I said to LOOK at the page and see if a thread on it answers your question. Hit the little arrow at the bottom and go to page 2. Does a thread there answer your question? It is NOT hard to do.

It's remarkably easy to spend a couple of minutes manually searching forum pages for a single thread and miss it. I mean, look how many pages are in this category of the forum.

One thing I do find is that someone may start off with a query and then things digress within that thread. So if you ask a question that has been discussed, how do you know WHICH thread it was discussed in? Understand what I'm saying? It's not all that crystal clear all the time.

Oh, that's an exaggeration. In all of the cases I remember this happening, it's been a new thread posted with the same question as another thread on the same page. I don't think people should look back 3 or 4 pages, but the least you could do is check the one page.

Actually, this thread presents a unique question that's never been asked before and is obviously generating a decent amount of debate, and therefore it wouldn't be a 'waste' of forum space. And let me be clear- I'm not asking for admins and mods to crack down on the people who are posting redundant/repeated questions, I'm asking for members to...

1. Skim at least one or two pages to make sure the question hasn't been asked before- not a difficult task.

2. I've seen members who will post three threads at one time, each with a different question (I have evidence of this happening VERY recently, so don't think it doesn't happen, because it happens alot) so instead, have one thread where you post all of your questions.

That's all. It's not too big a deal. And if you're going to argue with me about why my ideas are stupid, don't waste your breath, because I am not changing my stance on this issue, and if you don't feel like taking my suggestions then don't. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Wait, so you mean you've actually seen a thread where someone asks a question that never gets answered or discussed? I'm sorry, but I've noticed a trend in this thread of you talking about a situation that you're worried will happen, yet you speak of it as if it has happened to you... and I can name about 3 or 4 instances of this. Just for example...

I was told to post all queries in one thread but after time, you lose sight of that thread with so many piled on top and as was said, the search function doesn't work.

Yes and no, I do ask the same question week after week to with my instructor, the difference is the more you understand the same kata the more detail you can go in to it. Probably not the best example to choose I know but what I am getting at is, not every single member answers or reads every single post or thread. At our seminars we have over 200 people some times asking the same 5-10 people the same questions over and over its the nature of Iaido, like I said probably not the best example to compaire with due to the whole background of whats going on in a single kata and people learn differently. But I do see what you're saying yes but what I am saying is if we stop people from doing this you'll end up getting people who sign up and post once or twice and do not contribute in any way shape or form.

I know what you're saying about sticky threads and yeah it can work but I've seen a lot of forums where it doesn't, its just one of those things I suppose.

Another thing I just want to point out to people who say they get annoyed with all the same things...........maybe you can.......not read them?? I dunno if you're sick of reading the same things then don't look at them, there are plenty of other topics or even start your own topic on something else that interests you. where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
