the glass shards are falling up?
some shards even hit rinzler in the chest

Maybe the glass isn't affected by gravity shifts?

I'm pretty sure the "switch" Clu initiated during this match affected only the combatants. Whatever the reversal was, it only affects programs in the arena, not anything else. Possibly something in their armor. Of course, there is also the telling sign that neither of the two continued to throw their disks, instead going for melee combat.
Why use Norton AV or AVG to protect your computer when you could be using TRON instead!?

If you hit it hard enough, the force might be strong enough for the "glass" to break in that direction.
Notice it's not rocketing into the air in that direction. It flows backwards. then Rinzler shows up and helps.

I apologize for the off-topic post, but Rimwall- I've seen you use these gifs to support arguments, etc. How do you make them? If I ever started doing this kind of Tron universe debating that runs rampant on these forums, (which I usually stay away from because it can lead to arguments and personal attacks) it'd be easier to show what I was talking about in the form of a gif. So, how do you make them?

IMO? A lot of what Flynn said in that movie was hard to "get." Take, for example, his line about perfection being in front of us all the time. It would've made a lot more sense if he'd said something like "but what I didn't realize is that we don't want perfection, and it doesn't exist anyway." Otherwise it makes no sense...because obviously, Sam, and Flynn's life in the real world, WEREN'T perfect, because perfect isn't possible.
(I assumed, though, that what he meant was indeed that perfection is subjective)

Wasn't that scene on the Solar Sailer with Sam an indication of how his mindset had changed? He mentioned looking for perfection and how it was there all the time, as he looks at Sam. Then he says something like he'd give it away (perfection or the hunt for it?) for one more day with Sam. The shards are falling down in both.
