That was Khadafi's kid. Bin Laden got assassinated. We will no doubt be able to run the mission in the next Tom Clancy game.

Bin Laden was killed in a firefight after US Spec Ops forces raided a house he was in in Pakistan, not in a bombing. Apparently they knew they were coming too because one of the helis carrying some of the soldiers got damaged and was forced to land. None of the soldiers were injured and mostly all units attached to the mission took part in the fight to kill him.

Actually I heard it was from a drone attack from yesterday, but more details are coming in.

How long does it take to get one guy? Well, he's been on the most wanted list since 1998, but has only had a death warrent on his head since 2001, so 13 years or 10, take your pick. Still way too long in my opinion.

I was about to post something similar. A quote has been going around that I hear is actually falsely attributed to MLK, Jr., but regardless of who said it, it's still accurate and thought-provoking:
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
Someone is dead. Regardless of the fact that we feel intense relief that he won't be causing trouble to the world anymore, I don't think singing and dancing and celebrating is the way to go. It's still a life, it's still death, it's still a sober thing. Imagine how we've felt when we see our enemies celebrating 9/11 and other atrocities. We look the same way. A sense of justice or retribution, perhaps. Partying and joy, no. Even the worst life is not that cheap.
