I'm trying to compile a list of the various baton weapons.
Katana
Rezzed from a single baton. Seen used by Quorra and a Black Guard
Nunchuck
Rezzed using two batons. Seen used by a Black Guard
Combat Staff
 
Rezzed using two batons. Seen used by a Black Guard
Sentry Staff
Rezzed from a single baton. Seen used by Clu's Sentries.
Billy Club

So what composes the lit part, as in how does it work to derezz programs?

Well I don't know the more complex technicalities. All depends on what language Flynn wrote it in, but it works something like:
if collision = true
{
get collision.object
if collision.type.object = program
{
delete collision.object
}
}
You only asked about derezzing, so I didn't bother including pseudocode for collisions with other weapons or non-program assets. Suffice is to say, mostly what makes the weapons work is a whole slew of if-then statements.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

That makes me wonder about the disk war cage. A disk would hit the wal, so did that part of the wall get damaged? We saw it could tear a hole in the floor.

Technically speaking, Zuze/Castor's cane could also have been a form of baton.

The smooth walls look like they seal themselves instantly. The polygon floors do not.

I think the Billy Clubs are close enough.

There is no baton present anywhere on the cane though. And the club is not the same as the regular form of the baton. The clubs extend from the baton, and have the same look as the parts that extend from the combat staff/sentry staff, just much shorter. Look at the photo in a new tab to see full sized and you'll see it better.

Weapons from batons aren't persistent. The cane is persistent. Clearly an entirely different class of weapon.
