There is certainly lots of fodder for that, considering that there is Maleware, Spyware, Keyloggers, Trojans, Worms, Rootkits, Botnets, Firesheep, and loads of other real life bad things that could be used as Tron villans.

Funnily enough, I actually started it today. Though the premise behind it is that the program belongs to a woman who hacks into servers and steals information, then sells it to identity thieves. And then they come across something really bad...at this point I'm thinking some sort of political corruption like weapons sales or terrorism, and she has to try to decide if she's going to blow the whistle or just ignore it. I'm actually about to post on the fan fic thread about it because I'm having logistical problems with it. It actually doesn't involve Tron at all (I thought about it--at some point she tries to hack into the Encom servers and meets up with Tron, who totally pwns her, of course) but I didn't really want it Tron-related, just Tron-inspired and in the same sort of environment.

At any rate, I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. I don't know enough about hacking to really make it very realistic, and I don't really want to be vague about the whole thing, so I might not get much further than I am right now (about 4 pages, in bits and pieces). when you say "community" do you mean a community of
solid tron and tron legacy fans?

or a diverse community where there are those that love tron
those in the middle and those that don't like tron.
