Hah, yes I know Sam's mom is Canas, but how is Joline Baines a back to the future reference (it's been a while since I've seen it)?
I simply heard the last name Baines and instantly connected it to Lora Baines. :\

I think it would have made more sense for Flynn to have married a daughter of Walter Gibbs, otherwise, there's really no way he could have accumulated enough stock that late in the game to have controlling interest.

Encom obviously settled the theft of his work, and his wrongful termination by giving him controlling interest, or putting him in a situation where it was easily obtainable.
