Just wanted to start a thread to hear some thoughts about the Tron sets you got and how you like them so far.
My thoughts so far....
wish they had more features on the blu ray. Felt like they were pretty short. Haven't tried the second screen option yet. Could have used a 'play all' feature. Did like the fact that there's subtitles for those who are hard of hearing for the extras as well. (there is captioning on the digital copy as well...very classy Disney!)
Watched some of the 3D blu ray....it's not bad. There's ghosting but not real irritating so far. The POTC:OST trailer is in 3D on that disc. I thought it looked bad, though.
The blu ray was totally awesome! I wonder why though there's letterboxing during the whole movie except in the disc and light cycle scenes. Anyone else have this problem? I use the PS3 for my blu ray player.
Haven't watched Classic Tron yet, but I'm sure that'll be the bomb.
Also, just wondering if I'm having a brain fart here....
in Tron Legacy, the scene where Kevin is talking to Sam about the ISO's and how they came into being. He says something like "science, philosophy...everything up for grabs" or something along those lines. I could have sworn he said about religion too. Maybe I'm just hallucinating or something. Anyone can help me with this or perhaps I was just dreaming????
So far, enjoying what I have....got the four disc legacy and the two disc classic tron. Loving every minute with it.

The lack of letterboxing on those scenes in Tron Legacy indicates that the scenes were from the IMAX presentation. I can't watch my Blu-Ray as there is a problem with it, but the DVD has a warning at the beginning.

That's correct. They kept the IMAX aspect to give the feeling of being in the scene. After seeing it on IMAX 3 times, I couldn't agree more. Just bought a Vizio 3D tv to enjoy my new movie. Just gotta get my PS3 setup for 3D playback, then I'm back on the grid. 3D Vizio tv $698.00, viewing Tron: Legacy in 3D again...Priceless.

Ah thanks for all the comments. So yeah, it was brain flatulence for the scene....it was in the 'container'. D'oh.
I just fast forwarded through everything so I missed the IMAX warning thing. Anyone try the second screen yet? (need to visit the thread)
Let me know how the Vizio 3D works. I got a panasonic. It's a 42 incher (I have a small room) that I got from abt for about 750. I see some ghosting issues but not alot. Also, let me know about the PS3 settings. I downloaded the 3d update, but wonder if you can tweak the settings for the movies.
Enjoying Tron....loving it alot. Glad I spent the money to get it.

LadyTron,
I will try it out this weekend. Gonna return lightcycle walmart disk set for 5 disk collector's at Target. We were going to purchase the Vizio E421VL for $589, but happened on the Vizio 3D for $690 or so. It is the next gen phase shift 3D tv, much like you see at the theater, no lcd shutter glasses. I feel blessed. Replacement glasses are $50.00 each. I have a pair of 3D glasses from theater(Real 3D). If they work as well, I will buy a pair of oakly wrap around 3D glasses. They are $120.00 a pair, but I hear there is no goasting. We shall see.

Just a 3D update. The Vizio 3D tv we bought uses Sensio "Polarized" 3D technology, same as most theaters. The glasses are the same as ones used in theater, so are lighter, cheaper(I used the free pair from Tron in REAL 3D), and have no batteries. I'll post a link to update your PS3 for 3D viewing. Just do a system update first. If you already have the latest update, just change your display setings, as show on the link. I'm very impressed with the image from the Vizio 3D tv (E3D420VX). For just under $700.00, you can't beat it. By the way, I don't think you can adjust the 3D image on PS3. It just reads the disk. There are some games that have a 3D Effect adjustment in the Game Settings Menu (Gran Turismo 5). Here is the link to set up your PS3, if you need
it.
