iTunes (and man am I ever glad I checked) had a special deal yesterday: TL on sale for $(.99 as a download. I could not possibly havew clicked that "buiy" button fast enough. I do not have a TV, let alone a blu-ary player. So to have it on my computer is the ideal thing for now. A friend has a HD TV and a Blu-Ray player. I am going to buy the blu-ray disc and leave it at his house near future. No, really, I am.

WHY ARE THERE NO COMPUTERS WITH BLUILT-IN BLU-RAY PLAYERS? hEELLOOOO? iS ANYBODY HOME ON THIS ONE, PEOPLE? AND JUST WHERE THE HELL IS APPLE ON THIS? THE VENERABLE, SUPPOSEDLY ALWAYS-OUT-IN-FRONT APPLE?

Anyhow, the download went smoothly. If you're using a public connection, do this one at the library and not over the McD's wifi which is going to take you until T3 comes out to download. Then, well, there it was, and with some extra featuyres such as short (7-10 minute) featurettes onhow some of the sounds and special effects and casting were done. The extras were about what you'd get on an average movie DVD but on the typical blue ray, who knows, they may have been insanely exhaustive with the extras. I'm just saying you as well get a few when you buy from iTunes.

The audio was superb (been waiting to listen to this through headphones, whcih I savored doing last night) and the picture quality was on par with most DVDs as watched on my non-HD computer screen. For $10 I got a quite watchable copy with some extras and the immediate gratification of, you know, finally being able to watch it at home. So overall, not a bad buy at all. If you have an iPod, I suppose you could find some way to hook it up to a TV and watch it through the iPod. Can that be done with iPods, watching a movie on an HDTV?
