and sam goes to his room
quorra follows him -
the problem is her room is on the other side
i've edited out all the in-between conversations
to keep the size small

You're right. I had assumed she followed him to talk to him, but from that it looks like she was about to walk past him. Maybe not, though. Is her room definitely on the other side, though? Or are we just assuming? I had always assumed it was at the other end of that hallway, but then I haven't seen the Blu-ray special features. So I had thought she walked off in disgust and came back later. that corridor they were talking in lead straight to sam's room. there is no way to get
to her room via that corridor since it's a dead-end. well dead-end up to sam's
door.

Flynn's looks like one of those triangular buildings you see in NYC. New scene shows it a typical square/rectangular one.

But they do switch around right between scenes. the clue is:
we know from the movie that sam's meteoric climb to
the top of encom is assured but this scene carries
that idea too far
this is the part where sam shines the laser
and an important part of the blooper
