Ok, I'm confused now. I just checked the 5-disc edition advertised on Amazon, Target and Walmart and it seems that Tron: The Original Classic is supposed to be included as a standard widescreen DVD, while it says on tronsoundtrack.com that the Blu Ray version of the same movie is included instead. Which is which?
If only the DVD is included then I may have to hunt the discs down separately. I want to own a 4 disc Legacy (3D BD + 2D BD + WS DVD + DC), 2 disc original (BD + WS DVD), the Tron Reconfigured soundtrack and the Tron: Betrayal graphic novel. Although I won't get the Collector's Digital EP. :-S

The Blu-Ray of the original Tron film is what comes with the 5 disc set. I did a review of the contents on my Youtube channel.

Well, I went against my original plan of getting the TWO disc BluRay/DVD set and got the 4 Disc BluRay 3D set from Best Buy. I was able to use a coupon from Disney for 5 dollars off this set or the Deluxe set with special case. It knocked the price of the set from 26 bucks down to 21. So I got a two extra discs essentially for the price of the two disc set.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I could care less about the freebies they're throwing in, I already have the deluxe discs and three die cast light bikes, so I'm just going for the movies themselves.
By the way - who else HATES it when they give you the blu-ray, digital download, and the regular dvd version in the same pack? Why would I need the regular dvd if I have a blu ray machine? And as far as the digital download? I never bother with such things. I always end up giving those discs away to friends. I would prefer more special features and extra content than extra versions of the same movie ^_^ |
Well, I know this. I bought the 4 pack because it was the most economical with my Disney coupon and this allowed me to show my Godfather who couldn't attend a theatrical screening in the winter the movie on his home player which also happened to be a regular DVD player and not a BluRay. where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |

Thanks so much! Very good review.
I ended up buying the 4-disc 3D BD edition (even though I don't have my PS3 yet) at TRU since for a limited time they're including the Tron: Betrayal graphic novel for free! Retail is also $5.00 less right now so my bill came down to around $33 with tax. I thought that was a good deal. Even when I buy the 2-disc Tron: The Original Classic set + the Tron Reconfigured cd the total will end up cheaper than what they are selling them for at tronsoundtrack.com.
Of course, I won't get the EP :-S with this. Oh well... I might end up getting the Wally World special too to get the diecast, then sell the discs.

I went into my local Futureshop today to have a look at the Limited edition with lightup disc 5 pack, as I haven't received mine yet thru the mail.
People were saying that the light up feature only works when pressing the button and doesn't stay on. That as soon as you release the button the lights shut off.
This isn't true.
While I had pressed the button down I either moved my finger up or down a small amount, so part of the button caught an edge on the inside space around the button. I then removed my finger and voila! Lights stay on for good! To turn it off, do as above but move your finger in the opposite direction! I tested this with the 4 copies that were in the store and they all worked this way. That made me feel a lot better about pre-ordering this version of the movie. Even though it's small, I really like the Disc case.
But now I have a problem. I saw both lenticular cards that are on the cases for both the Tron: Legacy 3D 4 Disk version, and the Tron: Legacy 5 Disc set (with the closeup of Sam and Quorra) and I really want those. I'm a sucker for lenticular cards and flashy packaging and I really want them both. But I think the only way that's gonna happen is if I buy BOTH the 4 and 5 disk sets. But that would mean I'd have to pay about $80-$90 for those, on top of the $79.99 I paid for the Limited edition!
Darnit! I just don't know which one to go with!

I totally agree - but I guess it makes sense for those people with multiple formats in their home. I also agree about the digital copy - I guess it's ok if you XBMC or WMC, as you could add it to your home server. Even still, give me more extras - there's quite a bit of features, which makes the entire exercise that much more fulfilling.

I was wrong about the Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs and feel that my input may have put some people off from buying a particular set they had in mind. From all of the product descriptions I read, it looked as though a digital copy of TRON: Legacy and TRON would be included in the individual Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs. Wasn't I a bit put off to find out that such is not the case.
It looks like only the larger multi-disk sets came with digital copies of TRON: Legacy (I don't know if any sets had TRON digital copies). I wanted to put an apology out there to anyone that I might have confused or upset. In the end, hopefully everyone got a copy of the movie that they wanted and enjoyed.

Were they saying to themselves, "hey, let's try to confuse the consumer as much as possible"?? Because if they did, THEY CERTAINLY ACCOMPLISHED WHAT THEY WANTED TO GET ACCOMPLISHED.

IMO, this is a trend that is mostly "American"
We as Americans (used to) lead the world in the art of consumption. For decades we have had stronger numbers and bigger buying power, with this pioneering we demand more choices, because we can. Every marketing plan/scheme takes notice to this and generally will try to appease all social and financial teirs of their consumers. Minus the pitfalls of licensing, manufacturing, and distribution, this is one of the biggest factors in why there are so many effing versions of things, so many teirs to buy into, and so many redundancies in products.
Heres a small example. In Japan and most of eastern world, you can buy a Toyota, Honda, or Nissan, in almost any size and flavor. Here in the US, you can get a Toyota, or if you want to slpurge, get a Lexus, or if youre young and spunky get a Scion. Discounting the fact that many of these US counterparts are one-off, and exclusive to the states, you can probably google your high-end (Lex Acu Infin) import something amazingly identical, with the "lower-grade" badge on it.
Same with Honda / Acura, and Nissan / Infinity. Just pop the hood, every Lexus says "Toyota Motor Corp" on its block. This made me laugh when i was a kid into import cars and i'd see retards with their "Powered by Acura" stickers on their "JDM" integra.
Lexus, Scion, Acura, and Infinity are for all intensive purposes are American inventions. A way to divide the and specify to raise appeal and "invent" classes. And unfortunately it has worked. Your Toyota Landcruiser will always be seen as "slightly cheaper" than anything with a big Lexus L on it, regardless of manufacture value.
Long story short, there are 5 versions of this movie because we live here in America, and thats just how we roll, yo.

I decided what I am going to do. I'm keeping my Blu-Ray/DVD version of Tron: Legacy that came with the Wal-Mart diecast. I then bought Tron on Blu-Ray. I will be returning the 5 Disc Limited set when it arrives. Thinking about it, the lightup feature wasn't that great so I can live without it. If it had been similar to the Spinmaster Disc, that would've been a different story. (I'm still tempted to keep the 5 Disk Limited version just for the disc alone. However it's gonna cost me $90 total (which is hardly worth it just for the case and stand).
But if I could find a seller or whatnot that would just sell the disc case, stand (without the movie discs), and lithoggraph for a reasonable price, I'd definitely do that. Also, if I could find a seller selling just the cardboard outer cases from the 4 and 5 disc versions, I'd probably just buy those.
So, I'll pass on the 4 and 5 Disc versions of Tron: Legacy. At this point I don't have a 3D TV so there's no hurry for that.
Only IF Disney pulls the "only available for a limited time and then going back to the Disney Vault" will I pick up the 3D 4 Disk version.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

ROFL Looks like I'm in the same situation. After seeing the 5-disc and 4-disc lenticulars, and getting the Walmart exclusive, I figure: what the hell. It's only money. So I bought Original Tron blu-ray, too. lol. I figure I'll be able to sell them in the future if I later decide it's not only money :P
And I see your point, Pull. Although I don't remember seeing this kind of selection or variety of sets in other titles recently. It seems like they went uber-overkill with the Tron line for some reason. I think it really confused a hell of a lot of people. Including me.

What's the real difference in the blu-ray tron original and the regular DVD edition?
Quality-wise, watching Pirates of the Carribean blue-ray reminded me of watching documentaries where the studio camera was too bright and too lifelike.

Interesting issue to share: went to Walmart in the Sacramento region, bought Tron Original Blu-Ray/DVD combo for $27. Thought that was high, but they only had two left, so I committed. During dinner, I research and realize that Amazon's got it for $20 - DAMN, so I order that one too, thinking I'll return the Walmart one. With Amazon Prime, I'll be seeing that bad boy by Tuesday next week.
Wrong.
I'm told by Amazon that I'll be receiving it on or around APRIL 26th! WTF?????
There can be only one reason: Tron is doing very well off the shelves and Amazon is running short on product. Too bad Walmart won't price match Amazon. Now I'll have to wait three effing weeks....thank god I have the 5-disc set to keep me company until the standalone set arrives.

Heh I ended up putting my 5 disc on Amazon without the sleeve (noted in description.) I put it 25 cents less than Amazon's price (with my required $2.98 shipping) and will net about $38 after paying for shipping. So I'm out about $7 for the lenticular, I can deal with that. Glad I can keep both

Well, that debate is currently happening here:
http://www.tron-sector.com/forums/default.aspx?a=top&id=421299&fc=421743#421743
There is a pretty significant differnece in the Bluray, its debatable (obviously) whether its better or worse. Either way i feel any real tron fan should own and watch it at very least to make their own judgements. I personally love the bluray, although i can expect to think about which version i want to watch, as they "feel" different from eachother, more than "look"
This "difference" is the hot topic, good or bad its worth owning both.
