What gets me is why they are feasting on AN ENTIRE PIG! That's a bit over the top. Considering Kevin has adopted an eastern Zen thing wouldn't that be considered sacrilege or something? I can understand him wanting to emulate eating out of lifestyle habit in the real world but come on. A banquet feast fit for a king and his court is taking it too far. I half expected the pig to start conversing like Slartibartfast and say "Would you like a bite of my rump? I'm sure it's fresh and tender by now."

Now that we've covered that, does this mean they have to go to the bathroom in cyberspace as well?

That was a rhetorical question, by the way.

It's possible he digitized it. Once it was stored in the system as data, I imagine he could have made as many copies as he wanted, so he wouldn't have to worry about running out.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

It's not real organic food though, only a construct of what food is because it is really energy.

Do we know that for certain, though? The impression I got was that Flynn put together this banquet because this was a special occasion, and he wanted to chat with his son over dinner. Even if the food is just a digitized matter template with no "nutritional" value on the Grid, the act of eating and tasting it is still enjoyable in its own right. We also saw the three of them drinking some bluish liquid (liquid energy?) with dinner - perhaps that was the part of the meal that actually provided sustenance, while the food was just there to provide flavor.

What, again?

Okay, hang on, one of these days I'll put together a list of all the threads where we've discussed this as well.

We really do need a search feature here!

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Yeah, energy in the form of "food" or whatever - that's how I took it. Similar to the Water in the first movie. It could take most any form, but being that Kevin Flynn is used to actually eating, perhaps his mind in the computer needed some form of actual "ingesting" to keep from going insane.

Or something.

Seemed like a very nit-picky point however.

And remember, it's not a real pig and there is no spoon.

Considering what resource hogs looked like in Tron 2.0, the idea of eating one is... kinda disturbing. >.>

How do you figure he should have died of starvation or thirst - he's a DIGITAL COPY not a biological entity. If the events of the movies were to happen in real life (HA) he wouldn't really have any need for food or drink besides a psychological one. Programs in real computers do not require refreshing or nutrition. Personifications of programs wouldn't need them either. As I said earlier it's likely a psychological element - his brain or at least the electronic pulses that are simulating his human brain, needs to eat, so in order for him not to go bat-shit insane, he created a way to do so.

And Bridges is not a good actor? yeah that's why he won an Oscar last year for a movie in which he was BRILLIANT. He's not playing himself, he's playing a character. Every actor imbues the performance with a bit of themselves, it's impossible not to.

He owed the fans more than what he gave.
To explain the food is impossible. He should have died of starvation on the grid a long time ago. Hell, of dehydration as any water on the grid would destroy the whole universe. Water and electricity don't mix.

Joke post?

I guess he hasn't seen the first Tron movie. That'd explain the "water" part.

Just thinking that as soon as the movies come out, we're gonna get so many Troll posts saying that it sucked.... Yeesh.

Swann have you even SEEN the movies?

When a human goes into the grid his biological information is stored in the laser, that's why Quorra was able to come out, the machine used Kevin Flynn's biological information to recreate a body for her.

Once they're digitized by the laser the are no longer biological, they're a digital representation. That's why Clu needed Kevin Flynn's disc in the first place, because it was the key that unlocked the biological data in the laser. He intended to repurpose that data to form his own armies - though I don't think he really understood that the didn't have enough material to make an army.

Food, water, rain, it's all a digital representation, it's not real.

But regardless of all that, "dippy"? Really? How old are you, 12?

Did you resort to name calling because you don't agree or because you just don't understand?

Religion has been integral to the plot of TRON since the first film. Deal with it.

I did like the face Sam makes before he puts the green bean in his mouth, like "what the heck is this? Is it real? Let me sniff it first."
