Seeing the film for my third viewing yesterday, I had to think about the previous film and how people mock his portrayal in the arcade scene with Lora and Alan. He did play it a bit over the top but we know Flynn is a wild card at times, right? So watching the bridge scene towards the end of T:L, I realized how subtle he played Clu. Maybe the director told him, maybe it was his own idea. But the way Clu utters a low, partially spoken "no" (scene is on youtube if you want to see it) was way better than if he had yelled "No!" or "Nooooooo...." It just so fits in with the whole 'I'm a hurt soul and you were the one who hurt me' thing Clu is going through. Do you think the next film could do without Jeff? Can Garrett carry the film on his own? Would you go see it anyway?
I've always been a Jeff Bridges fan but he was wonderful to watch in T:L.

I could be wrong but I honestly don't think it will be even half as good without Jeff Bridges. I was six years old when the first Tron came out and his cocky cool attitude made me think of him as the coolest guy on earth. In Legacy, he was a loving father. He truly is a great actor. I probably would still go see it even if it doesn't have him in it.

I'd go see a sequel regardless, but without Jeff Bridges, it just wouldn't be the same.

Yes, I have no idea if he's game for TL 3. I surely hope so! And if I could plant a flea in his ear, I would. :-) I'm just glad he was in T:L, thank you, Gridlord. I might not be so obsessed with the film were it not for the wonderful father/son storyline.

He probably won't be back unless his agent gets him a really big contract with a cut of the merchandising. It was because of the voting members hatred of TL that he didn't win best actor this year for TG.

Oh I don't think so. His competition was too great in Colin Firth who had a shoe in early on.

The biggest cheers in the bootleg test footage was for Jeff! It's only when he appeared on the screen, that I really believed this would happen.

Yup, Bridges sells it. He brings a legitimacy not only to Legacy but to the "Original Classic" LOL as well. Without Bridges, these films would be flatter than a stale open bottle of Coke.

I found that old thread and had to laugh at the speculation about the early trailer. Crispin Glover as the guy in the helmet? "Not anymore."
But glad to see they had improved the youthifying process to a more realistic finish, from the early piece.

And let's also not forget Boxleitner as well. After all he's fooking Tron.

That was icing on my cake. I mean, it couldn't be Tron without Bridges, but then I saw Bruce and I was in heaven. Not a big role, but pivotal. And hopefully a sign of a bigger part next time.

If Jeff's not up for it I at least hope Bruce has as much of a pivotal role as Bridges and we get a movie that features Tron. They could even bring back Yori.

I think Bruce would very much be up for it. In his interviews, he seems to be loyal to the franchise, having done voice overs already.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Just so you know, Boxleitner used to be a big pothead too. Saw an interview not long ago where Melissa talked all about it. Now they're divorced.
Anyway, that's pretty unfair to say that about Bridges just because he does doobies like Harrison Ford. He's a talented actor.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

For me, the whole point of Sam was to pass the baton of the franchise to a fresh crew of actors. Bridges is old. Boxleitner is old. The franchise can't rely on them if it wants to move forward. I can see them making guest star cameos for significant tie-back to the original film, but only if the script calls for it.
And I think Bridges is a better actor than he is sometimes given credit for. Boxleitner too. Who has been doing stage and TV work, prior to TL. If I am not mistaken. |
