It's much like how at the end of Return Of The Jedi, Darth Vader turns on the Emperor, and then in his dying moments becomes Anakin Skywalker again, and appears as a ghost.

The whole deal is that they're showing that the Tron program in kevin's grid overcame his re-programming, and when he fell in the sea of simulation, his circuitry flashed back to white, showing that he was once again Tron, and not Rinzler. Presumably, he died, and this gives us the satisfaction of knowing he died with a clean conscience.

It is speculated, and I share this specualtion, that if they do a Tron 3, we'll see Tron again in some form, so even if this one Derezzed, there's likely another copy of the Tron program on a floppy somewhere.

Don't even SUGGEST such blasphemy! It would take a lot more than a prolonged dip in the Sea of Simulation to derezz Tron. True, he COULD have sunk and derezzed, but I'm an optimist who says we haven't seen the last of that heroic program. And I don't mean to rag, but a copy of him on another computer or something just wouldn't be the same. Plus, that Tron would have no knowledge of the Grid or the events of the new movie.

In my fanfic, blue IS security (except Tron. Though now that I mention it, I guess I could switch him to blue too if I wanted). But, dark blue of a shade unlike any other programs, not that faint turquoise. Then again, in my fanfic, it's a different, Sam-created Grid, so I can do whatever I want.
