This car is ugly for you? (Maybe Golf Version 6 is not available in the US?)
I see... different tastes. For most Europeans, most american cars are very ugly.
Beside some Chevrolet models.
But hey, at least most car manufacturers did improve a lot in designing their cars more future-like in the past decade. So nowadays we have cars which even fit to us TRON fans. Eh, I guess. My tastes are a little more... er... muscle car-y. I think my favorites of this decade would be the 2010 Chevy Challenger, the 2009 Dodge Charger, the 2011 Ford Mustang and the 2005 Ford Mustang. Older stuff, I'm into 70s Mustangs, as well as the '86 and '93 models. I really like Fords, sooo...on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I enjoy a good muscle car too...I'd take a late-60s Camaro any day. Unfortunately, my wallet and the environment would NOT enjoy such a ride! (Im still waiting for my uncle to fix up his '67 Camaro. He's promised that when he does, I can take it for a spin. Unfortunately, he's been saying he's going to fix it for years...)on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineorder abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Same with my dad. We have a '67 Mustang convertible in the garage. It leaks and has a few other issues, but it's nothing that couldn't be fixed if we actually took the time to do it. But nothing's been done, even though my dad says he wants to fix it almost every summer. I have a strong feeling that fixing it will become my responsibility in about 10 years.

As far as crashes, I think everyone can differentiate between a larger, more solid car...and a tiny 'crunch-mobile'. 'Nuff said. LOL
You also have to remember that I've been driving cars for: 35 years. LOL. My best auto I ever possessed was a 1969 GTO Judge. If ya have no idea what that is, I can't help ya ROFL It's a shame everyone can't have a chance to drive one. Just once. |
Some short counts from by fu *oops* ing home country:
The Toyota Yaris (current version) with totally basic interieur and a 1.0 engine (70 PS) and 3-doors is about 12.000 Euros in Germany. Thats about 16.500 $.
If you want to have 5-doors, AC, navigation, parking assistence and - of course - 6 gears you have to pay 16.000 Euros. Thats 22.000$.
For a new Toyota Yaris 1.0L!
Please have in mind that it is common here to switch the gears by hand and not automatically by the car.
The gas prices are also HUGE here in Frankfurt. Americans complain about 3.50 dollars per gallon? Germans would laugh at you very loud.
We have to pay 1.50 Euros per litre. Thats 8 Dollars per gallon.
Now you know why driving a cheap and rather small car is better in Germany, especially for someone who earns average money for his/her job here.
Of course you always see people driving the new germany-only BMW or Mercedes or VW cars which only reach 20 miles per gallon. However, that is a minority and you barely see SUVs or a Pickups on german streets.
Is it permitted in the US.... to put some reflection / light stripes on your car like seen in Pimp My Ride? Or are these cars shown by MTV just for the show? This hybrid Yaris with some TRON Legacy stripes - AWESOME!
In Germany it is only allowed to have tribals which have mat colors. |
OMG dude! I didn't know it was so bad over there! Learn something new everyday.
Finding a manual transmission vehicle in the US....is not easy! Unless you're looking for a sports car or other type of vehicle in which a manual tranny is popular. The majority of US cars are automatic transmissions.
Reflective/light stripes? I'm thinking they wouldn't be allowed, at least in my state. Every state is different in what they allow as far as customizing goes. I would think anything with a matte color would be fine. Pin/paintstriping/flame decals etc. are ok. Around here, LED lights UNDER the car seem to be popular with the kids.
I'm surprised at how strict Germany is with pollution. Certain people can't drive into the city...because of what they drive? And people here wonder why others would NOT like to see the US adopt foreign policies! LOL
I do love sports cars. Older camaros, firebirds, mustangs, GTOs, etc. Once you drive them, you never forget. Then, everything feels SO much...................less. But times are changing, and cars are getting smaller. It's inevitable. I wonder how it will affect traffic fatality figures per year in the US as cars become more and more smaller?? Will they reduce the speed limits to compensate? Eek.
Ok. Don't wanna think about it anymore. I might lose sleep over it. LOL. Good luck over there and stay safe

Thats right, if your car is too old and pollutes the air too much, you do not have access to the center of Frankfurt. Germany is one of the pioneer states in saving the earth. At least no pioneer in starting wars anymore.
We have the most wind wheels (the big ones) on earth, almost 20% of our energy is alternative solar or wind energy.
However, this makes the air cleaner in the cities. Big plus, if you ask me.
I also noticed your cars are automaticswhen I had vacation in Florida. The only manual car I saw was a BWM Z3 at some car shop in Clearwater. I don't like the automatic ones because most times they have a bad transmission, so they waste fuel unnessecarily.
OH... and Germany still got no speed limit on most "Autobahnen". You can kick your car to 180km/h (110 mph)
Though our cars are forced to be cleaner every year. The german manufacturers found a balance. Even the new Porsche cars are forced to be fuel-efficient (kind of). You don't have that in your antique GTO or Mustang. You do not even get them in Germany

If everybody has a small car, then what is the risk increase? You're still looking at people with similar sized cars. It's when a Smart Car gets hit by a Hummer that you're going to have a problem. And, of course, a semi-truck or school bus is going to be bad news for ANYBODY.
But keep in mind cars are also getting safer all the time. A small car today may be better in a crash than a large one 30 years ago. What do you want? I'm busy.

On the downside, a small car these days will crumple and smash into tiny, irreparable pieces, whereas 30 years ago, you'd come out with a dent. The quality these days sucks. order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I thought it was an homage - interesting: you can even hear the 2011 Light Cycle start-up/rez-up sound near the end of the commercial. Guess you could say this is a follow-up of sorts to the Toyota Honda commercial that was done not too long ago.

Have in mind, Europeans mostly do not drive such big cars and pickups like americans. The biggest cars most people drive here are mini vans. In the past year, I only saw 1 Hummer on the driveways. And we ask ourselves: Why do americans need such big cars?? We just cannot understand it. A cultural clash, you know.
Bigger cars or trucks are mostly used for business, not for private use. Plus, you do not see old cars here. The oldest cars you see on german streets are from the mid 90's, beside some antique cars. So I can just speak for our country: We do not have such "small car vs. Hummer" safety discussions because all cars need to be above a certain security level by law.
Though there are still a lot of crashes small car vs. transport truck.
Toyota is very safe according to current reports. (To at least have one line on topic)
We should create a car discussion thread. This is a very interesting subject if you ask me. What do you think?
