My ears aren't so sharp and it makes me nuts as a card-carrying geek to hear someone mispronounce a character's name.
I tend to follow the basic rules of phonetics when it comes to the Qu pairing, but you never know.
So how does Olivia introduce herself? As "Corra" or "Kworra?"

Quorra is actually one of the names given to the Niger River by the inhabitants of the region. You would have to ask a Nigerian for the correct pronunciation.

Quorra seems to sound more like "Corra" when she says it, however she is shouting and it would be harder to hear a W sound in there anyway. When Kevin says it, it sounds more like Kworra.
Honestly, say "Corra, Kworra, Corra, Kworra" as fast as you can. Hear how it sounds almost the same when you say it quickly? It really doesn't matter THAT much. I say it right in between having a w and not, but then again that's partially my accent/way of speaking.

I agree---not really all that important.
Just curious what you all thought.

I thought it sounded like "cora," hence why I was surprised when I first saw the spelling. But as others have said, say it fast enough and it sounds the same anyway. you know that anyone named "kworra" in the real world would end up being called "cora" most of the time anyway because people are too lazy to bother with the correct pronunciation of things, especially names.
(and if we want to get really nitpicky--if she says "cora" and Flynn says "kworra," I'm going with "cora" because I'll always listen to a person on how to pronounce their own name before I'd listen to someone else about it!)order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

It sounded like "cora" to me. If I'm not mistaken, I think the Latin root meaning of Quorra is "heart", and that most Latin-based languages like Italian, Spanish, etc, would pronounce it with a "c" or "k" sound, as in "cora". Don't quote me on that, though.
As an aside, I like how Kevin referred to her as "Q" when he said, "There are no visitors, Q." I thought that was kinda cool that he had a "nickname" of sorts for her. order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I totally missed that he called her "Q."
That is awesome.
I'd like to have seen that relationship explored a little more (like in a comic prequel or something).
Thought it was very interesting that Sam and Quorra clicked so quickly despite the fact that he should have been insanely jealous that Kevin had essentially raised another child on the Grid.
Kudos to whoever looked up the root word for her name, too. I think that's great.
By the way, did anybody catch the origin of Rinzler's name?
According to starwars.com he was named for J.W. Rinzler who writes the "Making Of" books for LucasBooks.

It's funny seeing a thread for this because I keep finding myself conflicted on the matter. I'm pretty sure I remembered it being said as "Corra" in the movie, but whenever I see the QU I want to say "Kworra".

Through most of the movie is seemed to be "Cora/Kora", but I noticed particularly in Evolution that Castor/Zuse pronounces it "Kworra". I'm getting mixed messages here...
Personally I pronounce it "Cora/Kora".on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

Didn't assume this. It was on the official starwars.com blog. Apparently Joe K. and JW Rinzler met up at some event.
You can read about it here:

I don't think he raised her. Programs are self aware adults from their conception, and while she was different being an iso and all, I doubt that means there was a baby Quorra who needed to be raised at any point.
Although it does raise one interesting question, and that is if a program takes the appearance of the user who created them, then what gave an iso like Quorra her likeness? End of line |

The Latin word for "heart" is "cor." There is no Q involved. French couer, Spanish corazon, Italian cuore, etc.

I stand corrected. Thank you, Kat. I wasn't quite sure what the correct Latin etymology was. At least it sounds the same, right? LOL! on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online
