Hi, I've been coming to this forum for several months and enjoying the discussions, but just now registered w/ a problem/question.
My son is turning 6 in February and is turning out to be a bigger Tron fan than me. After watching the original with him over a year ago, it's a regular in our DVD player. If it weren't for the company I ordered the EL wire from shipping the rest of the order w/o the most important part, he would have been Tron for Halloween. He was w/ me at the Tron Night and Flynn Lives screenings, took his uncle to see Legacy and wants to see it again. Naturally, he wants a Tron birthday party.
We're going to use a lot of the ideas on the disney.com website, as well as some of our own ("lightcycle" races using tricycles). I've ordered the light-up cake topepr as well as the cupcake rings. The problems I'm running into are party supplies (plates, etc.) and the goodie bags.
The fact there is an officially licensed cake topper and cupcake rings leads me to believe there will be matching party supplies like most every other licensed property, but I haven't had much luck tracking any down. I found a single sleeve of square cake plates along with a package of 4 buttons on ebay that appear to be officially lciensed, but $20 is outrageous for 8 plates. I think I also found a single plastic table coverign in a matching pattern. Do any of you have any knowledge on a wider release of party supplies?
For the goodie bags, I'm havign trouble tracking down small, inexpensive Tron items aside from the cupcake rings. I was thinking of some of the promotional Flynn Lives pins, but I can't find them at a reasonable prices or sufficient quantities. Same goes for miniposters (I should have picked up a bunch that were elft after the Tron Night footage screening). I was thinking about the diecast vehicles, but they're too much right now and I don't see them going on clearance prior to his party in mid-Feb.
I'm really shocked that Disney missed the boat on marketing the heck out of Tron, contrary to what they do on pretty much every other release. Most Disney movies you have no problem tracking down cheap trinkets and such for.
Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
Oh, and I don't see it mentioned yet, but Target has Tron Legacy Valentines out, now. Package of 16 that come w/ pencils. $2.50. Already purchased for his class.

For table settings, just get black plates, black napkins, and light blue plastic silverware.
I'd do the dicasts anyway, and just shop around. TRU had them 25% off this weekend, and some smaller retail chains are dropping Tron products and clearing them out at ridiculously low prices. I'm in the exact same boat... Son's 7th birthday party is in February and we're having trouble finding anything TRON related for his party. We made invites (VIP passes with bar codes, cycle (date/time), sector (location), and registry (RSVP).), but the gift bags are a real problem. I think we will be printing our own stickers and I did find some gift boxes on eBay, although they weren't cheap. We're putting some cheap glow sticks in them and maybe some candy with homemade TRON labels. We're going to let the kids decorate their own identity discs we make out of cardboard, too
If you come across any ideas, please post! Can't believe Disney is missing the merchandising game AGAIN. You'd think they'd have learned from 25 years ago!!

For a gift bag item, I'd recommend diecast lightcycles. Those are $3 or $4 at Walmart. Also, if you're willing to do the work and have the necessary materials, you can probably find some cheap white foam frisbees and paint the design of the original discs on them. Keep in mind that the lightcycle diecasts are becoming increasingly hard to come by because of how popular they are.
I can't think of too much else. The diecasts are the only official products that I know of that have a price appropriate for parting gift bags.

as a suggestion, you could always pick up flat color items in the same color scheme.
orange and teal for example.
keeps it cheap and yet still in the theme.

You could possibly buy the smaller 2-pack figures from Target and split them up for the bags. That would put the trinket at $2.50 a kid...abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I bought this off ebay, shipped very fast. However it was shipped in a padded envelope and was received broken, I let them know and they shipped out a replacement via Priority Mail in a box (and fast) and was fine. Party is this weekend.
Light cycle lights up and is very cool and very affordable.
