Flynn's power in the End of the Line club

on Sunday, January, 09, 2011 12:17 AM
Hi everyone,

Browsed a few threads, but couldn't find an answer to this question.

What in the world did Flynn do in the End of the Line club? He puts his hands down on the ground, lights go out, and all of a sudden he saves Sam and Quorra.

What's the deal? What did he do?

Thanks!

By the way, this is kinda off topic, but in the Grid, a user is 526 times more powerful than in real life.

According to Ma3a, in Tron 2.0, just because It's not canon, doesn't mean the figure isn't the same.

Hah! Nah, c'mon man. That's weak sauce. The reintegration is another thing I had a beef with. I was actually going to post a question on that in another thread, but decided that reintegration was probably just a last resort that Flynn could always do but never wanted to (because of the chance to go home, the need to teach/protect Quorra, etc).

I guess the question is, what kind of power does the creator have in The Grid?

Maybe the movie just doesn't explain it, and is ultimately one of the film's shortcomings. where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Flynn shut down part of the club and drained some of the energy from it, caused just enough of a disruption in the environs and so stunned the Black Guards so the other Programs could all get the upper-hand and defeat the Black Guards.

In the Grid, Flynn can manipulate the energy and digital code of The Grid (to a certain degree) sometimes to create simple energy/code constructs (like the food where stuff he materialized as energy/code constructs), or if he's in a secluded sector, even create a digital "clone" of himself, which he called Clu.

I recommend you read "Tron: Betrayal" the graphic novel. While Flynn is viewed as a "god" by some programs, he's not super "all powerful" or omnipotent. He's figured out how to do some things, but jeez even Flynn knows he can't do everything and be truely like a "god" nor does he think himself to be an omnipotent god.

Re-intergrating Clu into himself was a last resort thing, because he was fairly certain doing such would cause himself to explosively fragment, and it did. Flynn wanted to find a way back to the real world after taking down Clu, so there was no need to do something that would fragment the data making up his digital form no need to sacrifice himself needlessly at the time.
BUT, with Sam being there, things changed, and Flynn had to do all he could to make sure Sam got out through the portal.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Flynn is only human, and humans do get scared and run when someone's just seemingly killed your friend and is coming to kill you.

Flynn isn't an omnipotent "god", he still only human, and not a trained, expert fighter ffs.. Neither is he omniscient and go "oh i can do anything and everything I'm a god!" He's never indicated that he's ever thought that. Flynn's "abilities" have limits I'm sure.

Doing to much might completely destabilize the system and cause it to crash as well.

It's only *some* Programs that see Flynn as a deity, but by Tron:Legacy's time, most Program thought (mostly due to Clu's propaganda) that Users are enslavers and tyrants.
(ironic because Clu becomes an enslaver and tyrant in his "rectification"/re-purposing of programs, forcing "weak" Programs to battle to the death in the games, becomin a kind of militaristic dictator over The Grid)

Flynn doesn't have "god like powers." He has some abilities above ordinary Programs. But Flynn has never said he could do anything he wanted. He is *not* omnipotent, and that is a huge misundertanding to think that he is.

A Program kneeling to Flynn is because that Program *believes* Flynn to be a deity, that does not mean he is one, nor does that mean Flynn thinks he himself is a "god".

Flynn is the type to "do what seems right at the time" and kind of improvise things kind of guy, not "oh im going to be a god and do everything!" type of person.
He kind of "wings it" I think. He is still human, and still feels fear, uncertainty, and doesn't know everything ffs. It's a big misconception IMO to view him as omnipotent, when he really isn't.

Flynn is still human, and just has special abilities above that of ordinary programs. He doesn't have "super admin powers".

Flynn is fallable and not all-knowing, not all seeing and he can't just wave his hand and save everyone like some cyber-jesus.

His neat ability to do some out-of-the-ordinary things in TRON and TL came about by mostly spur of the moment (I'll try this out and see if it works") kind of thing. He improvises. It's not really a planned in advanced thing, or "I know exactly how to do this!" kind of thing either.

The Grid under Clu's control seemed way more rigid and structured than the old Encom 511 system's world as well. I am sure Flynn was in-a-sense, limited in what he could do.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

There is no "shortcoming". Flynn is human, pure and simple. Flynn was afraid and taken by surprise when Clu turned on him. He didn't know what to do to save/protect Tron.. out of fear, he ran to safety. Flynn is just a human, fallable. He's not going to think of everything and be all "oh im Superman, here I come to save the day". No person is perfect or always know how to fight when their life is threatened. Sometime a person will run, sometimes they will fight.

He never wanted to give himself omnipotent super-admin/god powers. His above the ordinary abilities in The Grid are a side-effect of being a User (human translated into a digital being). I'm pretty sure he did not want to be "all powerful."

What's the point of having a "free system" that Users and Programs can interact in and use if Flynn gives himself god-powers over everything? That would be idiotic and contradict the idea of free information and having The Grid be inclusive like Flynn wanted it to be...

Really, your making an issue out of something that isn't really an issue. Grasping to find something to pick apart uneccessarily. This is like complaining about Luke Skywalker and saying "oh he should just let out all his anger and kill Darth Vader right away!" when there are sensible reasons and in story context reasons why he didn't.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

From what I understand, Flynn's jedi-like powers were supposed to be representative of his skills with computers in the real world.

I personally think its what Dragon said, its server limitations. Another good point to look at is that it takes time for him to "hack" or change the program, code stream, so on, he has to manually edit the code segments.

A good example is in the elevator, he has to not only diagnose whats wrong, he has to bring up the edit interface, then use it accordingly.

The more obvious and simple way to edit code is to change the energy amounts in the immediate vicinity. Another thing to point out, is that Sam had thrown the programs that get immediately derezzed, over the couch chair before Kevin had entered or at least was visible.

And Hello, btw, I'm new on the forums, been lurking here for years, and been meaning to make an account, just never really needed to.

I've always interpruted it as being a side-effect of having a living, human consciousness, a "soul" in the machine, able to influence or manipulate things somewhat (to a certain degree) due to being a actual human mind within that digital world.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

That is extremely Valid, as C.L.U. is able to edit thing much faster

Kevin is the Admin, but being human, cannot process data nearly as fast as a program.

Kevin is not a god, nor has any god like powers, Its as simple as him being the administrator with Read/Write access on everything.

As much as the worshiping goes, people pray to Raptor Jesus, don't they? (She went extinct for you sins, to save you from the velaciraptue.)

Why thank you, There's just so much controversy on how the systems work. I honestly wish that Disney would release some details not in the form of a graphic novel, or Game.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

The graphic novel and the game create a pretty dang good backstory.

So did alot of materials made for the Flynn Lives alternate reality game; which touched upon alot about the development of The Grid, what Kevin Flynn was thinking about in regards to the things he was seeking and thinking about.

I hope alot of that makes into into the commentaries and "making of" for the BluRay/DVD's bonus materials...on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

Yeah, I've read the Comic, and played through the game, its just that the average user could not complete the story on there own accord, which is the main criticism of the film.

I fully enjoyed the film, save for "The dude" Performance by Jeff Bridges, if he had kept a serious role, the movie would have been much greater, as his comedy did not fit with the danger of the situation.

Not knowing anything about the games, I've always viewed Kevin's powers as something attributable to simply being human. Humans are completely different than programs. And his powers always seem to have to do with the giving and/or taking of energy. Programs cannot do this. "Energy" is life in the computer world and the ability to give it or take it is very godlike. This is what he did in the orignal movie (giving energy: the recognizer, saving Yori; taking energy: the red guard, the energy pulse stalling the solar sailor).

I agree that Flynn is not omnipotent. That is pretty clear. He's clearly not a fighter, because he's not one in real life. He can program like nobody's business, and being the creator of the Legacy grid, he can do that within the system (the elevator, getting the bug out of Quorra's disk). So, not being a fighter, when attacked by Clu, I think he was more in shock than anything else as he's crawling backward, trying to think of something to say to stop Clu from killing him.

Reintegration makes sense because of Flynn's programming skills, imo.

Sam is a bit of a quandry, since he doesn't display any real user power. Except perhaps, in his sudden ability to fight during Disk Wars (Light Cycles were a natural for him). I will say, though, his disk fighting (like his lifestyle) is scrappy and improvisational which got him to the final round with Rinzler.

It's possible that user power is simply the enhancement of one's natural talents and abilities in the real world.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Like i said before its not just that there human, Kevin was the Administrator, he had read/write to everything, which is why Sam had non.

The thing is that Kevin had designed the new grid, and if i'm not mistaken, for the purpose of eventually letting people in it, and as such, would have designed it to not allow that "User Power".

Something tells me that the users power gets channeled into the personal energy reserves of the program/user, stored in the disk, or just not exist at all.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion
