Yep, he's yours. As long as we can pat him on the head sometimes. I mean, don't get me wrong, he totally has the potential to be hot, but... I'm just not feeling it, personally. Still see him as even the sort of dude you could probably snuggle on the couch with while watching a movie, and it's totally cool because it's SO obvious he's just Buddy Sam and you don't have to worry about anybody getting the wrong idea. Strange, because really you'd only expect to get that feeling about the geeky boy-next-door type that no girls are into, but...

(In my fanfic, the main female character and Sam actually went on a couple dates looong ago, but were like, "um, we're definitely just friends" and that was it)

Ha! Yeah that's exactly how Sam comes across to me too! Maybe a BIT more than patting him and feeding him cookies, but not much more. Maybe just a squeeze xD

And uhhh.. I think (sorry to all other combatants) but I think Spark wins Rinzler!

I'm glad someone here is into Sam though. That scene where Quorra nuzzled into him was adorable, they are both adorable!abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Ewww! What is the deal with fondling. It's weird, I can only get to sleep well if I daydream about Clu or ... whoever at the time. (Ed Norton, Elijah Wood lmao) And yet I can sincerely say my fantasies are so ridiculously boringly innocent. Yet, if I have nothing to think about, I'm lost.

As I've said before, in my fanfic, the main female character is Sam's cousin. Her parents died when she was 4, so she's been living with Flynn and Sam since then, and she and Sam are more like siblings than cousins.

*nods* I agree. I'm glad someone's into Sam. I don't think I could give him anything more than a familial hug or kiss on the cheek.

Y'know, funny, I just sorta fleshed out the part of my fic where my OC flashes back to how she got to be friends with Sam. Which totally was not something I ever expected to put down on paper (well, digital paper); I didn't think I'd get into all the background stuff, but there you go. Though its not really a real fic at all and not for public consumption... no real plot or anything, just that for fun I'm writing down various scenarios that pop into my head. Like where my OC, Elyse, talks about how "just friends" is as far as it goes--

So, we were a bit on the close side. It was all platonic, though. Oh, we tried going out a couple times. I think it was three, and then we decided we were better off as friends. It wasn't that we probably would not have clicked well physically (at least from what I could tell from kissing him), but from an emotional and intellectual standpoint, I think we decided to keep that little bit of distance. I definitely believe one's significant other should be one's best friend, but I don't think either Sam nor I could imagine us waking up next to each other or anything like that. It just wasn't that kind of friendship, and I think we both felt safer with that wall of platonic affection between us. We could talk about a lot of things, but we drew the line at the experience of morning breath and arguments about who was going to clean up the kitchen.

(LOL, just reading that makes me think, "geez, why WOULD anyone want the experience of morning breath and arguments about who's going to clean out the kitchen?" My poor partner. "And then she said she moved out because of this Tron fanfic she was writing..." *snort* Upside: he does scoop the litter box. I guess I'll keep him and his dirty socks another day, lol.)

I started writing my fic right after I finished Tron 2.0. That was about 8 months before Tron Legacy came out. The only knowledge I had of Sam was from the trailer, so I kind of had to make up his personality. The funny thing is, I managed to match his movie personality pretty well. The story is totally AU, mixing bits of Tron, Tron 2.0, and, now that I've seen it, Tron Legacy. Anyway, I don't know if I'll ever be posting my story online, right now it's about 1/4 done and what's done is in the middle of being beta-ed. But here's a snippet of mine, since you posted a snippet of yours.

The telephone rang. All twenty first- and second-graders looked up from their work as the teacher moved to answer it. The teacher put the handset to her ear, listened for a moment, and put the phone down. “Sam, Revan, you two need to go to the front office. Take your stuff.” she said. Seven-year-old cousins Samuel ‘Sam’ and Revina ‘Revan’ Flynn looked at each other, then over at their friend eight-year-old Jethro ‘Jet’ Bradley, shrugged, picked up their backpacks and left the room. As they jogged across the large K-8 campus, Revan turned to Sam. “What do you think is going on?” she asked. Sam shrugged. “Dunno,” he replied. “Guess we’ll find out.” Revan shivered, unable to suppress the bad feeling that rose in her stomach.

When the two entered the front office, the principle ushered them into her study where Kevin Flynn was sitting in a chair. “Dad?” Sam asked, worried by the look on his father’s face. Flynn got up and walked over to the two kids. “Revan,” he said softly, putting his hands on her shoulders. “You’re going to be coming home with us today.” Revan frowned. Normally going over to Uncle Flynn’s house with Sam was cause for celebration, but today something was not right. Why would he be picking them up before school let out? “Why?” she asked cautiously. “What’s going on?” Flynn gently pushed her down into a chair. “I’m really sorry, Revan. Your parents were killed in a car crash this afternoon.” Revan started to shake. “W-what?” she stammered. “What does that mean?”

“It means that they aren’t coming home,” said Flynn. Revan went quiet. Sam walked over and awkwardly put a hand on her shoulder. “Come on. We need to go pack your things.” Revan, still silent, got up and followed her uncle and cousin out of the office.

It's actually kinda weird how I'm digging into the Sam character in my fic. Apparently I won't lust after him but I'll gladly psychoanalyze him, lol. I have yet to get so deep into the other characters, even Tron (and he's supposed to be the love interest--yep, totally dorky, why else d'ya think it's a private story only, lol, but I know you guys will understand if I admit to it) Maybe it's because Tron doesn't have so much of a past to flesh out (in my fic he died in Legacy so this story has re-compiled version of Tron). And probably also because, let's face it, Tron is a bit of a Mary Sue except for the whole Rinzler thing. So far all I've got on Tron is that he's aware of what happened in T:L and is on the uptight side because of it--needs to make sure it doesn't happen again!--and he barely gives women the time of day (probably also in part because of it--doesn't want distractions). I'm working on Alan a bit, but that's slower going. Poor Alan, I'm afraid, is turning into the worrywart old guy the more I write... but he does get better and even makes an appearance on the Grid. He also rather spectacularly makes it up to Elyse for hassling her about her relationship with Tron. So I feel like I redeem him.

Quorra I'm not reading very well at all so I'm having trouble writing her but I think she'll come. And still trying to work in all of the programs I want to insert. I've just dreamed up two new ones that I can't figure out how to work in. The Grid is starting to get crowded, lol. I just counted and with the two new ones, I've got 10 programs playing either major or minor roles. Then I've come up with two bad guys (jerk programs, not plot bad guys per se) and need a few more.

What do you want? I'm busy.

Heh, now we need a new Ladies' Night thread in the fanfic section.

Is your character's name pronounced like "raven" or is it something different?

Tron'll come, I know. I probably just need to finish with Sam first and then we'll see who pops into my head next. Really with Tron it should be easier because thre IS so little to work with, then I can do whatever I want, but while it's fun to have freedom with original character, it's kind of scary to do with canon characters. With canon characters I prefer to have a definite framework to work within, then it's fun to try to open up that character further while still trying to remain true to who they are in canon (as you can tell, this isn't my first fanfic ).

“Do you have any luggage to pick up?”
“No, just my rucksack here.” I shrugged one shoulder to indicate the large pack on my back. I preferred to travel with just a carry-on.
“Great, you travel light. That's good, 'cause I left the car in a no-parking zone.” He was already headed for the doors. I rolled my eyes and had to smile. Clearly, Sam hadn't changed. Ahead of me, he turned and walked backward for a few steps to talk to me.
“Can I take that for you?”
“No, thanks, I've got it. I never pack more than I can manage.” Now it was his turn to smile and I knew he was thinking I hadn't changed, either—Elyse. Always has to take care of herself. I made longer strides to catch up with him. Sam and his long legs. He always did move at his own pace, and anyone else had to keep up. It wasn't arrogance; he was merely lost in his own world most of the time, usually focused on where he was going next, and didn't always notice what was going on around him.

That's one of my favorite parts...Sam parking in the no-parking zone, lol. He would totally do that.

Damn, now I'm kinda stuck, though. Came up with a great idea for a snippet of when Elyse is old and looking back, but that means I need to figure out what exactly happens with the Grid long-term...does it never take off? Do Sam and Quorra indeed change the world, in which case how do I write my little clip to reflect that? (I don't really want the whole project to fail, but it'd be way too much work to imagine what the world would be like if it didn't. If I could only think of a way to end it sort of gracefully without having to make it a "and so it never worked out" thing that wouldn't also take a bunch of explanation to ruin what I have in mind.) What happens to all the programs when the hardware and software become obsolete, do they all just get upgraded? And if so and the Grid (and Tron) is still going, then why is old Elyse sitting listening sadly to a recording of "Carrickfergus" and thinking about Tron--did she cut out from the relationship when she started getting old and wrinkly and he didn't? (ugh, I hate to do that sort of thing now that Stephenie Meyer has ruined that particular scenario, but I have to just not think about it if that's the route I want to go; it's not like it's a dilemma that is exclusive to Twilight but still.)

Oh well. I have a whole day of filing at work to spend worrying about it, lol. Might as well have my brain doing something interesting.

Don't get me wrong here my Kitty Kat, but that's about the smartest thing I've read in this thread in a while... I know it's in our genes to fantasize and all but please, you're losing some of us! so lets spend the night TOGETHER for I'm seeing like two or three groups of ladies all in the same room at once!!! What I'm trying to say is that I love this being kinda like a "constant off-topic" thread... I'm sure you'll agree.

Oh, I almost forgot... Nevermind the voyeur in me...

Yours truly,

Lol, maybe we should put a thread in the fanfic section. The character's name is pronounced exactly like it's spelled. Wonderful things, phonetics. "Rev-an".

Yeah, I can tell. From one fanfic writer to another, there are ups and downs to both OCs and cannon characters.

You'll figure something out, I'm sure of it. *snuggles Rinzler again* Since you posted another snippet, now I have to.

Thirteen-year-old Revina ‘Revan’ Flynn was annoyed. Okay, no, scratch that, she was infuriated. The seventh-grader glared down at the page of scribbled equations once more before dropping her head down on the table and pillowing it in her arms. “Ugh,” she grumbled. “I hate intermediate algebra.” Her cousin Samuel ‘Sam’ Flynn and best friend Jethro ‘Jet’ Bradley nodded in agreement. “That would be the understatement of the month, Rev,” Jet responded. “Let’s take a break.” The three teenagers were sitting at a table in corner of the Employee Lounge of the Encom building, where they always went after school let out. If someone wanted to find one of the trio between 3:15 and 4:00 pm on weekdays, that was the place to look. After four, however, the three would split up, each heading to a different part of the building to watch the various workers at their tasks. Everyone was accustomed to the teens wandering around; after all, the son and niece of the CEO and the son of two of the top programmers were common sights. All three kids were very bright and knew when to stay out of the way. Jet would almost always gravitate to the Reconstruction Department; he loved watching people take old games apart and make them better. Sam would head over to the R&D area and watch new games and programs being created. As for Revan, she spent her time in the Digitizing Labs, watching Lora Bradley work with Walter Gibbs and others work on turning solid objects into code.

And here is a snippet from another AU that I'm writing. Flynn takes Sam and Revan into the grid when they are little, and that changes EVERYTHING.

Clu, Tron, and Shadox stood on the observation platform. “The Portal’s open. Flynn’s here,” Clu said with a smile. The creator was back. When the door opened and Flynn walked in, all the programs began to chatter in excitement. “Hello Flynn,” said Tron, grinning. “Hi Tron,” Flynn replied. He turned to Clu. “Clu, you asked me once what was so important to me on the other side; what it was that kept me from spending more time here. Well, instead of trying to explain it, as that would probably be impossible, I’ve decided to show you.” He pulled Revan and Sam forward. “Programs, this is my son Sam, and my niece Revan. Kids, this is Tron, Clu, and Shadox.” Revan and Sam stared up at the programs. “You look like Daddy,” Sam said to Clu; Revan nodded in agreement as Sam turned to Tron. “And you look like Uncle Alan.”

Flynn looked over at Shadox. “Shadox, why don’t you show Sam and Revan around the complex. Don’t take them outside though.” When Shadox nodded, Flynn turned back to the kids. “Stay with Shadox, you two,” he told them. “He’ll look after you.” The two children nodded and followed Shadox out of the room.

While we're sort of on the topic of fanfic, what are your thoughts on the Tron version of Cinderella? I've had the idea, but it could be horrible if it isn't done right. It would be Castor/Gem and kind of revolves around Gem's ridiculously non-sensible shoes.

Okay, I figured out my clip with Elyse being an old lady, yay. It's really sad (damn me for having that depressing-ass song on my mind, but I've been planning on singing it for an audition so it's been stuck in my head for two days straight so far). I'd post it but it's almost 4 pages so it's a bit much for here (hence why i think we need our own fanfic thread!).
