What would you have preferred? A sequel to Tron, or a remake?

on Friday, December, 31, 2010 2:47 AM
Personally, I prefer the sequel. The remake would have just killed the movie with new technology

To me, being a person who didn't grow up with Tron, I think that the Original is perfect.

The remake would have taken the heart of Tron, and just remake with new "better" graphics, tech and (most likely) bad actors.

That''s just my opinion, though.

What do you guys think?

I'd like to hear what your preference would have been.

If you would have preferred the remake, please post why you'd choose the remake, and what actors would have played certain parts.

Sequel for sure. That way the original remains in tact. I really would not have wanted other people playing Flynn, Alan, Dillinger, etc.

Discuss it on tron-sector.com here.

Sequel, of course. IMO, you only do a remake when you think you can do a better job (or a radically different one). Hence why I groan at people who cover Beatles songs. Really? You seriously think you can do better?????

When it comes to movies, you can't redo them "radically different" or it's not the same movie, unlike music, so then you just have to go on the assumption that they thought they could do a better job. And I don't think there's anything wrong with the first movie, so... Especially since the first one was so innovative, why would you want to remake it and take away from that?

(then again, I've always thought remakes of movies should have to use the exact same script, and then see where the directors can go from there in making things different!)order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Same here. If moviemakers insist on a Remake, it must be faithful to the original, but different enough so that people don't think that they're merely copying the original movie.

Come to think of it, Don't know what "Clash of the Titans" is.

It's definitely different, some similar aspects. but, definitely different.

I liked it fine myself, but I like the original a bit more, though.

Sequel of course. Thats the one really good thing about T:L. In the end it doesn't matter that certain aspects of it were crap, I can always just imagine those parts as being done differently. After all it worked for Dr Who for decades. As long as the story is there, who cares if the actors are working on an empty stage, it's still entertaining.

Whats the worst remake of all time ? (i.e. a remake that absolutely reeked when compared to the original)?

Undoubtedly "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". OOOOOh, you could smell the puke oozing out of the TV.

Sequel.

The original is a true historical treasure of the computer era in the 80's.

...anyone who asks for a remake doesn't get it. :/

Sequel! All the way.

I am sick of the remake disease.

Agreed. That said, I _do_ hope they do a bit of tweaking when they re release the original. Definitely include Yori's love scene, perhaps complete and include a few other original tit bits, maybe redo or expand slightly at the very end and maybe (if they have access to the original B&W footage shot on set) even remaster all of the backlight compositing using more modern techniques and thus remove some of the glaring and annoying film scratches and errors that exist on the current version.

But no re shoots - and don't touch that soundtrack or the original CGI.

Sequel definately...But I think with this movie and possibly all the iterations of TRON we are getting a rebirth/redo in a way. The fact that a computerized world is prone to updating constantly means that their will be a cycle of remaking IMHO.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Sequal. I don't think a remake would do well, however I would like to see the original movie updated with the new effects sometime down the line. Not that the original needs any work done to it mind you order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Sequel

Course I never would have considered a reboot. However having been opposed by the Battlestar Galactica reboot and then having loved the show changed my paradigm in regards to reboots.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

That newer show was so different, cut out the word Cylon, and it would have been a sci fi show, but not BG. I tried watching but it never grabbed me past season 1. Oh well, they had to try.

Seeing an older Flynn and an older Alan made me realize it was the actors as the characters I loved. No one else would do. So I'm glad they made a sequel.

Not that there's much debate, but I'm putting in another vote on SEQUEL!!

I agree so much with this. One of the strongest connections that Legacy had with the original was Kevin Flynn and Alan Bradley... and I wish we would have gotten more of both of them, to be honest. Anyway, I totally agree: there is NO WAY ANYONE else should EVER play these two characters. Ever. End of line.
