i mean like, yes, the first tron was a disney movie and it would be weird if the second one wasn't made by disney, but have you ever thought what would happen if paramount or michael bay got his hands on this? because most action sci-fi movies you see today do not come from disney...
so basically considering:
-the NEW plot
-would it even be rated PG?
-different setting or characters?
-new action sequences
-sam's ability to cuss
-the humor
-would it be better or worse?
-do you smell another 'transformers'?
and anything else between it.

I've thought about this plenty. I do not like Disney and there are very few movies I can stand Tron 1 & 2 included, it would be vastly different. I've liked Transformers, but can't like anything else he has made.
I would love to know what J.J. Abrams would do to the movies, I am a huge fan of his work on Fringe and I happened to like Cloverfield.
But since it was made by Disney, it at least stayed faithful to the original, in my opinion.

It'd probably wind up being a Pixar film (if they never joined with Disney) and be completely CG animated...
Then all the uber-purist Tron fans would be complaining about how it has no live actors in the movie, and how the film is "childish" and too cartoony, and raging about the cheezy Randy Newman composed music! LMAO.

The funny thing about both TRON movies is how un-Disney they are.
And I agree, the director is key. If they'd let Michael Bay do TL I'd have not touched it with a ten foot pole because Bay is a known quantity and I haven't ever felt any of his movies were enjoyable.
