Why? The only thing super colliders are for is to find out about new subatomic particles, it is not a weapon nor anything that you could build things with either. Is far more practical for them to incorporote 3D printing machines in the next sequel that could build weapons and what have you piece by piece than a Supercollider any day of the week.

Well there are so many things wrong with the economic logic in your post that I can't take this seriously at this juncture.

1. It's doubtful they would have made a irrevocable decision on whether or not to have a sequel based on box office considering the movie is still playing domestically and internationally.

2. A company so invested in a movie that has multiple marketing outlets is not simply going to ignore the profits from those sources when considering sequels. You are talking cash in the coffers here...Sorry, International box office, DVD sales, the whole kit and kaboodle of sales matters.

3. If they were that headstrong on making a decision to cancel any possibility of a sequel then they probably would have axed the micro series as well. After all, if it's such a failure, then they would need to recoup as much production monies from the franchise as possible.

4. The computer models and other reusable assets of TRON: legacy would mean some cost savings for a sequel, so from a budget standpoint, a sequel could be made cheaper than the predecessor. It all depends on how much the new assets would eat into the budget.

5. Somehow, you come here only to post about this and nothing else....Rather odd.
