DI has been losing money for the last few years. When they merged Disney Internet Group into Disney Interactive, the boss at DIG took over the entire merged operation but resigned only a few months later. Now Hopper has gotten the boot.
Frankly, I don't think the sinking DI ship can be saved. At least, not any time soon. The latest people placed in charge, and
their latest strategy, probably won't help either.
I know DI has been trying to raise their profile and improve their success/earnings the last few years, but they definitely haven't managed so far. And I think the pounding Evolution is taking in the press is a sign of how things have not really changed much despite attempts otherwise.
After the DLC for Evolution is released, I expect Propaganda to shut down. I feel sorry for their team. It's obvious they really tried, and believed they had a winner on their hands with Evo. But I think they badly misjudged what most people really wanted in a Tron game, and now the fates are not being kind to them. It's probably because they simply didn't have enough time to develop a more fleshed-out game campaign thanks to Disney's do-or-die deadline to match the release date of the sequel.
