I've noticed throughout the story mode of the PC version, Recognizers are called Regulators? very confused
does anyone know something I don't?

The Regulator is Clu's command ship.

Actually, to be precise, Clu's ship in Evolution is the Regulator, which gets destroyed at the end of the game(and I'm not going to say anymore on that subject for fear of spoiling it for people). The Rectifier doesn't come into existence until Tron Legacy. All of this can be found in the Tron Files that are found throughout the game.

Furthermore, in the DLC Map Pack, the Drydocks map shows the Rectifier in its final phases of construction.
