Tron Unit Wrote:The review itself is rather disappointing. Half of it is spent telling us the history we already know and the other half spent praising it without really providing any direct examples or analysis of specific cues. If you are going to review something I would prefer direct examples, breakdowns, track names, etc. I hope to see a more detailed and objective review of the score. This is just purely a reaction not a review of the album.

It read more like a press release than a review.

I can't take an article seriously when they can't even spell "Perfect" correctly in the subject header. Lazy journalism.

It's good publicity but I'm not going to pretend it's a good article just to be positive. lol!

I thought some people might actually like that the soundtrack got a postive review... I guess not... :/

I didn't know articles posted here fell under an unwritten "analyze, pick apart and critique the review itself" clause.

I didn't have to "analyse, pick apart and critique the review itself" to know it is a superficial article. What's wrong? Do you know the writer of the piece? Or because you've posted it you feel somehow personally attacked if a couple of us say what's on our mind. I'm not posting to pick arguments but I will defend a point of view, that's all. We'll just have to agree to disagree and move on :O)

I'm not feeling "personally attacked".

It just seems that way too many people. not refering to any persons specifically here, it just seems that any positive impressions, reviews, views, is being greatly outweighed and overshadowed by criticisms of this thing or that thing.

Give one's own impressions or initial opinions, I am not saying or implying one can't do that neither I am saying or implying a person shouldn't critique things.

But seems like every minor thing is getting some anaylsis or critique that comes off as or *seems* to me to a little negative. Not saying they definately are, just my impression.

Give one's own impressions or initial opinions, sure, never said or implyed one can't do that or critique things. But everthing is getting some anaylsis or critique that comes off as or *seems* to me to a little negative. Not saying they definately are, just my impression.

I think I know what you're getting at, and I find that on other forums. I don't like to be overaly negative in opinions. I hope that it's obvious from my posting in general and how i come across. Most conversations face to face would be far easier, of course.

i think another part of it is..if someone is more open minded and is an overall positive person, then they may notice negativity from a group of ppl easier than those who are being somewhat negativewhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

my cynicism, and most all my negativity is focused on things like the suckage of life, politics, politicians, radical and extremist religions/and their followers, the flaws with civilization & human nature, that mean people suck, and a**h**es are major a**h**es...

But I love all things Tron, so I like to look on the bright side of things with it.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I've heard it, and it is really really good, a must buy. My only gripes are that some of the tracks are quite short, and there isn't any trace of Wendy Carol's work anywhere in it. I would have loved to have even just one of those musical cues worked in.

I totally agree. More of Wendy's themes worked in would have made this score a work of genius but as it is it's still a great score. The best thing Daft Punk did was to enlist a 100 piece orchestra to compose symphonic scores and layer them with electronica just like Wendy did back in the day.

correction: 90 piece. lol
believe it or not, daft punk considers to use violins in their next club album.

The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day. I got in.

A small part of the theme from tron that was in the End Credits track in the very beginning of "Adagio For Tron" it's just stretched out and at a slower tempo, but it is there.

I don't know some are saying there's no element of Wendy Carlos in any of the tracks when in some tracks the very style of music is obviously inspired by Wendy Carlos's music fron Tron and also have aspects inspired by Vangelis...where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

But I still don't really get much of a connection with "Adagio for Tron" to Wendy's main Tron love theme. I think you are wanting to believe it's there so much more than it is. Sure, there's a few notes that sound vaguely similar but most of the melody consists of minor keys. Perhaps DP used it as an inspiration since it is an "adagio" after all so it's supposed to be down tempo. I just wish they could have at least incorporated some of Wendy's more "recognizeable" melodies into their score at least on a few tracks. I mean, it's like doing a Bond score without using the Bond theme. You gotta tip your hat.

It is really strange now that the comparisons to Matrix have almost disappeared and I have been seeing more comments of "this sounds like the music to Inception". I never saw Inception so I don't know.

Bits of the original Battlestar Galactica theme were even incorporated in the first and last episodes of the remake. DP should have at least done an updated techno version of the orignal Tron music for the end credits. WC's music added a etheral atmosphere to the film and gave it a feeling of being in another world.

Hell, I guess I am old fashioned and like the big orchestral sound in big budget movies.
I will have to watch the movie and see if the music makes me feel like I am in an alternate reality or a rave.
