Problem is that in the very first test trailer, we see CLU turn around to see Flynn looking down from the safehouse. I'll bet he does know and decided to leave him alone in there, knowing he can't get out of the system. He could roam about if he wanted to and CLU couldn't care less. It sounds like Flynn is kind of under 'house arrest' by CLU and his forces. Castor, on the other hand, reminds me of someone who is not satisfied with more power and attention. This guy craves attention for some reason.

But if Castor tries to screw CLU, watch out, because CLU is one bad a$$ you don't want to EFF with. If programs are afraid of him, think of the rage he carries. CLU is somewhat jealous of the ISOs since they are independent programs and can evolve, while he can't (from what I've heard in interviews).

If CLU wanted to evolve into more than a program, then what's so wrong about that? Does CLU truly want to be an ISO?

Think of this way. Lucifer was jealous of God's creation, the humans. He fell out of vanity and power lust. But, he tried to corrupt the humans. Then again, this movie is either a social commentary on fascism or socialism from one individual. If you want to put it in the right analogy, he would be almost like a digital version of Hugo Chavez from Venezuela, not necessarily Nazi Germany (it comes close to that) but rather more Communist Russia back in the day.

But the problem is that if they off CLU, who runs the Grid if Flynn and son escapes? I suspect Clu lives but fails to catch them.

Otherwise, Castor comes off to me like a backstabbing son of a gun.

Shadow, I do have Tron: Betrayal #1, but #2 is a pain in the ass to find. So, I'm quite aware of the story's premise in there. The idea of a police state isn't new similar to the famous Orwell novel '1984' which would be apropos since Clu was created near that time-frame.

Castor as the energy/druggie provider is not surprising, however I've heard in interviews that he has the tallest tower in Tron City. It harkens back to the height of towers relative to the power of a wizard. The idea is whomever has the tallest tower represents the most power. But one has to wonder why Castor's tower is taller than anyone's when Clu's fortress should be a lot bigger than that.

Someone mentioned Clu ordering the poisoning of the Sea of Simulation. There's a problem with that logic that if Clu is trying to create a Utopia just like Flynn's, then poisoning the sea isn't part of that concept. Unfortunately, the poisoning, if confirmed from the comic, was probably the beginning of a Dystopiac system.

The other element I noticed is Clu's attempt to be more than a program and maybe there is a Pinnochio element to him of trying to be a 'real boy' while Castor reminds me of this famous Disney fox character in the Pinnochio film, I believe, Foulffellow the fox goading him on to the wrong path.

I'm not sure yet, maybe it will help me decide. I'm leaning towards more canon though because I usually write AUs anyway and I want to try my hand at something that's not.

I just got the Art of Tron Legacy a couple days ago. It's pretty awesome, has some odd spelling errors. I do think there's quite a bit of concept art was left out as well

You know, something got me thinking. In the first TRON, the MCP bossed Sark around and gave him energy as a incentive.

Now, in Legacy, who provides this stuff? I know who does coming from what I've seen in the new Art of Tron. BUT, this gives this person a lot of leverage and power. Get with the program, Shadow?

I don't want to say too much but I have this weird hunch that Clu is'nt the only 'boss' around.
