A blast from the past returns, the new line of Commodore computers look fantastic. Might order myself a PC64 when it comes out just for nostalgia, though the new systems look fantastic!

Whoa! That's awesome! It says it can play old C64 games 100% natively out of the box, and possibly Amiga ones, too. I wonder if it comes with 5.25" and 3.25" drives so I can plug my old games in, or are they going to do it some other way...

If the price is right for both of those I might get one of each. And use linux on both if the price is right in Canadian funds. . Or are they going retro with the orginal OS in it as well.

2 Legit 2 quit

End of line

Compucore

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I've seen this a few months ago. I'd love to have the C64 original case but that isn't happening since I wouldn't have a use for it other than emulating a C64. Then again, it sure would be great to run VICE on it and use warp mode to by pass loading times.

As far as I know they come with linux as standard not sure how they run the old C64 games I am assuming that they would have some sort of dual boot system going where you can run them with the original os or some form of emulation.

I think I'll get a PC64 myself seeing as I still have all my original c64 games and Amiga games PLUS my gf is in need of a new pc AND she doesnt want a massive system so it may be the perfect excuse to order one

There's been allot of discussions lately online about Commodore. Just thought that was a bit interesting. I'm actually looking for some NOS in both C64 and Amiga components.

When does the PC64 come out and for how much? It always just says "late 2010". http://www.commodoreusa.net/PC64.html And will it come with a 5.25" drive with it so I can plop my old C64 diskettes in? The diagram only shows a DVD-ROM. I have an old floppy drive that seems to work, so maybe I can just plug that in. But it'd be nice if it came with one, or had it as an accessory you can buy. Before the diskettes are too old, I'd want to copy them all to DVD or hard drive, in addition to playing them

The new Commodore 64x design by Commodore USA is nearing completion. After many painstaking months a modern functional PC as close to the original C64 in design as humanly possible, will soon become a reality. It will house a mini-ITX PC board featuring Dual Core Atom and Nvidia Ion2. The Cherry brand key switches, which are in the same exact shape as the original, will be color matched to the original and feature a lovely IBM classic mechanism and click sound. The ultimate hackers keyboard on which to wield your key-fu. The C64x case will come in the original taupe brown color and will run C64, Vic20, PET, C16 and possibly classic Amiga software out of the box for 100% Commodore Compatibility. The power light is now a red LED illuminated power button.
