I was looking at some pictures from TRON Evolution today and I noticed a similarity to something I don't think I have shared here before.
Before I left Disney in 2005 we were working on concepts for TRON 3.0. That game was supposed to jump into the future and the characters would have some of the same kinds of capabilities the Legacy characters have.
The image that struck me the most was this one...
It looks and feels very similar to this image from Evolution.
It seems some of the work done for the 3.0 game might have made it into TRON Legacy and Evolution.

The vehicle from Legacy...
Looks kind of like our Crawler from 3.0....

This one is a weaker example, but strangely was the pair of images that first made me think of this.

Here's one that shows we were ahead of the curve.
Our character would have complete control over where they were in the environment.

Very similar to what they have designed into Evolution for their wall jumping capabilities.

There was also an attack in one of the Force Unleashed games that involved ramming a saber into the ground to produce a 360-degree throw-back blast.

It definately seems like a lot of the Tron 3.0 material inspired elements of Tron Evolution and Tron Legacy. Pretty dang awesome.

Then there was our disc design, look a little familiar? Certainly in the same spirit as Legacy at least.
