Here's some things that seem like inspirations for some of Tron Legacy's visual design (other than Syd Mead concept designs from the original Tron)

I'm not sure about some of the costume inspirations, but the chakram certainly seems to ring true. The identity disc does indeed function like a chakram (as opposed to a Frisbee) in at least some of the scenes we've seen (such as how it is held and wielded in close combat, not to mention the ring design).
