To all my C64 brother's and sisters (and other 8-bit computer gamers as well).... Remember 'Archon'?
Well.. they recently released a brand new version for the PC and it's really awesome...
BTW: They also have it for the iPhone too..
Anyways, I got it the other day and I love it. They kept the classic elements there and added a few tweaks... They really improved the gfx and animation and the title music is redone with the same tune but redone as a rock track. There is even a conquest mode and a mode that you can play with up to four friends.
Check out their website here:

Awesome in every way..

Ahh, the good 'ole days. If Archon was an Electronic Arts game, I can actually see the load "ea",8,1 working...
Good find, Qix. I loved Archon. Actually, I think it was Archon II that I loved and played ... but still. Archon at heart.
Speaking of EA, remember when they didn't used to be evil and their logo was a cube, sphere and cone (or pyramid)? I keep hoping/wishing to see that old logo brought back for a period of time for fun. Maybe an anniversary year or something.
Now they nickel and dime ya with downloadable content and regurgitate the same game franchises with little improvement or change for about 5 or 10 years. They have a gem of a game every now and then... but they still seem evil at their core, imo.
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Remember DMA Design? They created Lemmings and a bunch of other games for the C64 and Amiga 500. Then they created the first two Grand Theft Auto games till Rockstar acquired them and they became Rockstar North.
Epyx made allot of amazing games for the C64 (Impossible Mission, Summer Games, etc..) but Atari bought them out and then Atari has been sold left and right.
Digital Illusions was part of the demo scene back in 90's. Then they developed their first game for the Amiga (Pinball Dreams) with 21st Century Entertainment. Now they are D.I.C.E. (and working for EA, ugh).
Sierra went from development to publisher and they either folded or was bought out.
Ultimate, who made the 'Jetpac' games later became RARE Ltd. and made 'Killer Instinct'.
GT Interactive (who published Doom) was bought by Infogames who bought out Atari from.. well, whoever owned it at the time, and changed their name to Atari.
Brøderbund (who made Load Runner) was succeeded by 'The Learning Company' in 1998.
Psygnosis was acquired by Sony who then named it SCE Studio Liverpool.
Eidos bought U.S. Gold
Ocean was bought by Infogames/Atari
Sooooo much history there and more. These are just a few I can think of at the moment.
