Daft Punk Infectious

on Saturday, July, 10, 2010 6:01 PM
These guys are so awesome. I have so many friends that I introduced Daft Punk's Discovery album to and they are hooked... I'm also talking about people who ONLY listen to country or classic rock music.

Just the other day I was playing a few tracks and my friend Amber just fell in love with it. We went to the mall and I bought her the album.

Just something awesome I wanted to share.

I CAN'T WAIT TILL THEIR NEXT ALBUM/SOUNDTRACK!!!!! I hope to be jamming to it this Christmas.. Oh yes..

Greetings programs,
I agree and was impressed with the selection of these guys to do the full soundtrack.
I have always been a fan, Daft Punk is indeed awesome.

I am also very curious and hopeful that they incorperate some Wendy Carlos into the soundtrack and/or the film. They have done a pretty amazing job of keeping the feeling of nostalgia alive while making a fresh new film.
To hear the Tron theme in Legacy is the only thing more I could wish for this coming holiday season.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

To quote Kosinski:

Joseph Kosinski said at ComicCon '09:It was more like THEY were interviewing US to make sure that WE weren't messing around with "TRON"'s legacy!

If they're that passionate, I'm sure they'll definitely be keeping in things like "Creation of Tron", "We've got company" and "Tron Scherzo". We have nothing to worry about!

That is super awesome.. but even if Wendy Carlos (who has been acting really weird about her music these last few years) won't release the rights (if she is the rights owner and not Disney) then I'm sure Daft Punk will make a score that is appropriate for the film.

MTV: Will it integrate any of the original themes?

Kosinski: There's a certain level of nostalgia with something like this, but we never want it to go to a level of campiness. So we've been very careful to make sure we're serving our story. If you hear any music from the original film, it will only be in the appropriate place.

I'm hopeing DF have managed to weave in some familiar Tron musical themes. Good composers like Brian Tyler and Bear McCreary manage to do it. Ok, they use orchestras, but the principal should be the same.

Bear Mc Creary managed to create a theme for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, referencing the Terminator theme without overtly using it.(I'm not talking about the Dum Dum Dum Der-Dum bit)

I've never listened to Daft Punk before.

Is the stuff I've been hearing in the trailers a good representation of their usual style?

If you were to recommend a DP album to buy first, to introduce myself to their work, which would it be?

The stuff heard in the teaser trailer is unlike anything they've ever done before. The music in the arcade, still different but a bit more like their latest studio album, Human After All. If you want a good, all-encompassing idea of what they sound like, grab a copy of Alive 2007. The TRON Legacy soundtrack project appears to be stretching the Daft Punk duo far beyond their usual limits. These are hybrid DJ-musicians after all, not composers per se. I cannot recommend any album as much as I can recommend specific tracks, such as the eponymous "Human After All" or the track that brought them market recognition, "Around the World." Daft Punk has generally stuck with club-friendly, disco-paced stuff, though some tracks do slow it down a bit. They broke in during the 90's with a kind of pseudo-retro 70's techno schtick, and I tend to think that the TRON Legacy tracks will be a whole new level for the duo, who haven't released anything new in several years. A mangum opus? Well, I grew out of Daft Punk years ago. Personally they have a repetitive OCD thing going with alot of their songs, I can no longer abide. The TRON Legacy soundtrack however sounds great, so my worries I must say have been pleasantly alayed. I still hope they try to do an omage to Wendy Carlos.

Alive is a really great album, but I seriously suggest you check out 'Discovery' first. Then when you hear the mixes in Alive then you'll have a deeper enjoyment.. But Discover is my favorite. That WHOLE ALBUM IS AWESOME!!!

But yeah, defiantly check them out.

To each their own, but that is what Eletrosonic/Trance/Techno/Laser/Industrial is all about. It's why it's been so popular on college campuses since the 90's. I love it..

But Daft Punk is much much different IMO..
