I think it serves a purpose to have them separate. If someone wants to talk about (the old movie) or Tron (the over-arching "genre" of Tron), in general, it goes in the General Discussion forum.

The forum was created a long time ago... when there was only one movie to talk about: . And before the Tron 2.0 video game, and before Tron Legacy.

The threads on 8-bit Tribute EP and Tron Auctions, for example, have nothing to do with Tron Legacy... and everything to do with Tron, in general.

If users want to instead talk about Tron 2.0, there's a section for that. For the old arcade game, there's a section for that. For Tron Legacy, there's a section for that.

Yes, the Tron Legacy section is probably getting more activity currently because there's a new movie in the workds, and there are some new registrations happening here. But the same probably happened when Tron 2.0 the video game was coming out. As will happen when Tron 3 is being rumoured to come out. If the latest and greatest Tron development is always lumped into the general Tron board, then it will get messy. And I don't feel it would serve the intent of that board very well.

I'm not saying the layout is perfect here, as I also think it might be time to do some re-categorizations. I think we should just have separate sections for each movie. Tron Legacy would be on its own and would have its very own "General" discussion board. It would no longer be lumped under the Tron board. The Tron board, on the other hand, would be for the old '80s discussions and for discussions that don't really fall under any particular movie, but are Tron related. If there was a Tron Auction going on that spanned multiple Tron movies or products (e.g., had items from Tron, Tron Legacy, Tron 2.0 and Tron Evolution), then it would go in the Tron thread. And the video games would have their own separate areas. Maybe something like this:

In the end, I don't think the General Discussion board needs to be merged with Tron Legacy board only because TL is currently getting more activity. And especially not if several newcomers who maybe never saw Tron want to talk about Tron Legacy instead. I'm not saying that's the case -- I have no idea... but I want to try and nip that in the bud, in case that's a concern or observation.
