Hi guys/gals I need some help. I was recently given a 1/350 scale USS Enterprise model from my girlfriend (she decided I needed a project) well while painting I've primed it, based it and now I am looking for something called a Pearlescent finish which is doing my head in completely because no one seems to know what I am going on about!?
Can anyone please please help me before I kill someone with the model :P
Thanks.

Pearlescent refers to a paint pigment that reflects pearl. It looks best in a satin or slightly flatter finish IMO. One paint company uses the term to descibe the level of gloss in their paint, I think it's Benjamin Moore..(it does look kinda pearl-like)...
But you want to get a paint like this: http://www.starscenic.com/~star1666/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=76&=SID
Dunno how you're going to paint it on, but you should use an airbrush, airless sprayer, or try to find the paint in a spray can.
Edit: oops that link is to a gel, which you could combine, or faux paint with this: http://www.starscenic.com/~star1666/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=296&=SID(example only, this stuff is $$$)

I have a '57 Chevy (full scale...) with a white coat of paint, over that a couple coats of clear with some pearl mixed in to give it a deep pearl look that looks great under street lights.
Try that, but you'll probably need a compressor or pressurized spray gun so you can mix paint yourself. And who knows who sells pearl for plastic models, could try automotive paint and see if it melts your Enterprise into a blob.

I've just been reccomended this by a friend it works on plastics but I want to double check if this is what I should be using.

dunno if I'd go w/ the full pearl pigment, I remember Enterprise looking a little whiter that what's in that pic.. nor was it gloss.

Well I have sprayed it with a white primer then over that with a matt white which has given it a brilliant white coating as the instructions have said to do, they then say to add a Pearlescent finish and thats all I seem to find, I cant see anything that is a clear Pearlescent finish.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineorder abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

if the pearlescent spray isn't truely that, I'd order the clear. Sounds like a plasiccote paint(sarcasm)...

I tested it on a part I am not using (get two bottoms depending on what version you are making) And half spayed it with the plasti-Kote peal finish and it looks great but still need to do some testing with other paints.
