i cant remember the last time i un-enjoyed a movie i had hope for this much - maybe street fighter. i knew i wasnt going to go see it when i saw the first trailer and i heard from everyone (who bothered) that it was awful but i made myself sit through it because i had to see snake eyes vs. storm shadow. this was a crime what these people did.

yeah. I thought it was kind of mediocre. The "Accelorator Suits" and the scenes with them were the most goofy as hell crap I ever seen.

I watched this when it became available. What I was expecting was crappy acting. What I got was, I liked the acting I thought would suck, but the parts where the secret command recruited the guys transporting weapons suddenly was where it got lame.. then the story continued to look like a Bond flick gone bad, but where I least expected the movie to suck!
I liked the acting and FX while the new recruits were involved, however the other stuff - the baddies plot was short and stupid, and not as cool. as were other parts like the nano's to use mind control.. dunno, that's interesting if there's a back story... but there's not!
I'm sure they could have made this better w/ regard to future tech and normalized some weirdness in the plot.
Overall, I liked it. The FX made up for the contemptable story.

Yeah, I just watched it an hour ago.
Most of the visual effects are good, but some parts of the movie had way too many of those flash backs. They didn't really need a flash back to when Cobra reveals/explains himself. The flash back actually kind of ruined the suspence. A couple of the vfx parts that I didn't like was one of the desert scenes with the helicopters coming out of the base, and the polar bear. 
Otherwise the movie is watchable, but not fantastic.

I didn't mind the movie, but I can still say that the first Street Fighter Movie was worse :P

The only thing I didn't like about the Sunbow/Marvel G.I.JOE miniseries, series, and movie, especially, was the way they portrayed and treated Cobra Commander.
I understand that they couldn't be anywhere near as hard-core as the comics were; though they did have more than a few episodes with complex and mature subject matter. However, I wish they could've portrayed CC as a bit more of the dyed-in-the-wool evil bad-ass that he is in the original comics.
That's not to say that I ran home from school with any less sense of urgency to catch G.I.JOE, of course.
Man, this hearkens back to the "I love the 80s" threads here on the forum; we had such great cartoons back then.
