CluLives Wrote:In Dillinger's office, Dillinger threatens to put Walter back into the garage from whence he founded Encom. From this we know that Walter was part of Encom's roots, but is there any storyline out there that explores who he sold it to, why, and why he isn't rich from doing so? I figured if he attained riches, he wouldn't be working in the laser bay in the basement of Encom but rather sipping a mai thai somewhere exotic. Or funding his own laser research. |
Nope, but I can take some good guesses.
I can say Walter's garage experiment including a laser means he must have figured out a way to make things disappear without being burned up.
Also, educated in the current technology since the first working laser was built in 1960 by this man:

Poor because he was gullible and let someone like Dillinger best him by certain possible scenarios:
funding the project
blackmailing
MCP
Long shot, but what if: Walter never really afforded Encom, and was the old man everyone went to for information, and dedicated everything he had to the facility. Keep in mind there are no known investors.
But even if none of these were part of the plot, Dillinger is holding something over Walter.
Clearly the MCP was his baby, and the result of the MCP's devious work may have just been a partnership the MCP devised, to use them until he didn't need them.
That would coincide with the smile Dumont had when he knew they were going to destroy the MCP.
That's a give-in.
Just some thing to ponder...
